"We had a lovely meal overlooking the ocean, with outstanding service. Between the two of us, we ordered green salads, halibut, and sturgeon (wrapped with a prawn mousse) a particularly innovative presentation. They were able to accommodate my husband's need for a gluten free...(celiac) meal. Happily, almost all desserts are GF. We ordered the Sea Buckthorn chocolate dessert, which was gorgeous and scrumptious, and the rhubarb tart w/bay ice cream. All excellent!"

"Unfortunately I didn't pictures of the bread and sandwich, cause they were too good and got eaten really quickly! Definitely a must-see, they have a vegan wrap option (with a delicious home made sauce), and the pizza in the photo. Great place, and a nice little patio!"

"We have visited the sobo every year we have been in tofino and this year was no different. Very good food and atmosphere. It is more expensive than other places but it is worth it"

"Prices are on the high side, though the view is wonderful. Most restaurants serve a decent size appetizer, but not here. 4 scallops and a bit (4 bites) of greens, with a half of a strawberry for $14. It was very tasty, just disappointing in size. Hubby had a pasta entree and it was a decent size, though still $24. The restaurant was inside the Best Western resort and since it was raining, we dined here,. Would probably go elsewhere if there was to be another time."

"First thing you notice when you walk in is the fish smell. The bar, equipment and furniture is dated. The glasses and silverware are spotted and you so not get ice with your drinks. The menu is simple and needs update in food choices. However the server, despite his injury was very attentive, he kept our drinks full and made some jokes during our meal to lighten the mood. The owner was also the cook and was a very nice friendly man who explained their circumstance, that this business was passed down from his father who had died in recent years. We ordered a medium hawaian pizza to split, which was more than enough for 2. It tasted ok, no better or worse than what you would get in a supermarket. Most people probably walk out once they see the inside, however we were glad we stayed to meet two very nice men struggling to revive an old business being priced out by the tourist trap of Tofino We hope things start to look up for them, and you might give them a shot even if it's just a quick stop for a coffee and some constructive criticism."

"Traveling with two adults and two teenagers can be challenging when it comes to picking where to eat. Adults want local farm to table upscale, one teen wants Italian and one teen wants sushi. We can always all agree on Japanese though. So we decided to go to Kuma. Kuma is a small, clean, modern, open space and the food matches the decor. Beautifully presented and surprisingly complex in flavors, the food was delightful. We ordered a combination of fish with miso and noodles, both ramen and udon. Sharing is encouraged. Portions were adequate. Drink menu was interesting and also included local beer. Prices were average for the area, but not as expensive as some of the other restaurants we ate at. All four of us enjoyed the meal! No reservations are accepted."

"The vegan burrito was delicious and filling, I would totally recommend! they also had local vegan popsicles on sale on site but we didn't get them."
