"Lovely, clean restaurant. We visited this place enroute to Mangalore. We had poori which is served with a potato bhaji and chutney, was very good. Mom had the set dosa, which was decent nothing exceptional. The cutlet was average. Excellent service and a nice clean feel to the place.its a place you would go to if in the vicinity, but not a place you would trek to."

"As a foodie, We try many places but some places just stay in our heart forever.<br/ <br/ For me, Woodlands Restaurant Udupi is one such place. We visited here on our last trip to Udupi. We heard a lot about Woodlands Restaurant so we went here for our dinner. The seating was AC ambience was great.<br/ <br/ As per the recommendations, we quickly ordered South Indian Special Thali which is unlimited Not allowed to share . The thali contains 1/2 Soup, Puris, Kurma, 1 Cup Pulav, 1 Happalam, Rasam, Sambar, Dal, Rice, Dry Veg, 1 Cup Curd, 1 Sweet 1 Cup Ice cream. We requested got extra Kurma, Puris, Rice Dal.<br/ <br/ For dessert, we ordered Gadbad Ice cream.<br/ <br/ The service was quick. The staff were friendly just as family members they insisted us to have extra kurma puris. The prices are pocket friendly which makes this place a great value for money.<br/ <br/ We Tried <br/ <br/ South Indian Special Thali 185 Rs.<br/ <br/ Gadbad Ice cream 125 Rs.<br/ <br/ Virgin Mojito 70 Rs. <br/ <br/ Overall a highly Recommended Place <br/ <br/ Don't miss this place when you visit Udupi."

"Excellent environment near bandhar (port),friendly service. Menu is perfect, something for everyone. It includes unlimited fish curry rice in banana leaves(baale ele meenu oota),fish fry (Anjal(King fish),muru, sadham ,kodai(Croaker Fish),Manji (Pomfret),kallur(yellow Croaker), nang(Solefish), bangude( Mackerel),Bhutai (Sardine) which are their speciality, several chicken and egg items like chicken kebab,Chi. fry, liver fry,egg rice, yummy Chinese fast food . They also have vegetarian option like Gobi manchurian for veg. lovers. In addition to nice food ,prices are affordable. Servers are good and accommodating . I enjoyed a lot having delicious food .It was delightful experience and will be definitely back!! kudos!!"

"Saffron is one of the very good restaurants in Udupi serving only Veg food. The place is apt for family and group of friends to spend quality time with quality food. The staff here is very friendly and humble, when we visited with family they had an issue with their AC not functioning properly the staff was humble enough to apologise right when we entered and suggested a better table to manage the temperature issue due to AC non-functioning. It was very kind gesture since we spend around 2hrs in the restuarant and the temperature was manageable. The food is very tasty and hygiene and of great quality, it does comes with a little higher price compared to Udupi cost but I feel the price justifies the food quantity and quality. Dont miss Corn Niblets here as it is very fresh and crisp, you can't stop eating it..one of the best Crispy corns I have had in recent times. Deserts are pretty normal choices but again, of great quality. I emphasize more on the quality of this place in this review because that is what makes Saffron stand out!!"

"I 'm speechless with the variety of dosas. How incentive the people are here. So many different, crazy combination of dosas and yet not a single deviation from the authenticity of Udupi ' art of vegetarian cuisine. You must try the classics laced with 'Benne ' i.e., Ghee. Set dosa, plain dosa, Benne Masale, Cut dosa, Open dosa and many more. A must visit for Udupi."

"There is a feeling of awe and history when you step into this restaurant. It was established in 1924, which is an awesome franchise to have built up. <br/ <br/ Unfortunately, we had gone in the evening and they do not serve meals in the evenings. So we settled for dosas. Was decent but could have been a little more crisp. Service was decent."
