"We have been here many times. Upto this year I would have recommended it to anyone looking for a high quality meal (albeit expensive one). About a month or so ago we went and the entrees had changed( from lovely scallops with bacon bits on cauliflower puree etc).I tried the pastrami of kingfish,it was bland,and the Ocean trout ballotine came with burnt soda bread.Not good.So we thought maybe we will try again if case it was just a bad day.Next time we tried the smoked cheddar pithivier(it was mouthfuls of oily pastry with onions) and the scotch egg and croquettes.It tasted like bad pub food .So we moved on to main course.....the eye fillet and the rib eye.The meat was tough (and fatty in the case of the ribeye) and the chips were old and re fried.I know some places boast their chips are twice cooked but its never a good thing taste-wise.So thats it for me I've given up on this expensive restaurant .Did they lose their chef or what?"
