"I’ve been to the Wellington Diner a few times. The food is tasty, the service is great, and the location/atmosphere is relaxed. I really like that they are flexible with their menu. They were very accommodating when we asked to make a couple menu items vegetarian or gluten free."

"We have been eating breakfast, lunch and supper there at least weekly since last summer. The pizza is 99% as good as the original on Metcalfe street which I have enjoyed since the ‘70s. The breakfast and the pizza are terrific! The service is exceptional! They treat you like you are family. There are a few restaurants in Ottawa that make you feel like you are at home. This is one of those few! I recommend it to all my friends and always rave about the food and the service. Congratulations on a superb, friendly, family restaurant!"

"Recently got a small combination pizza ($13.50) from here to take home. We found it to be just OK as there wasn't an overabundance of toppings on it like I was expecting except for the cheese portion which there seemed to be a bit more than I would have liked. The overall taste and appearance were just average, we've had better pizza's from other places in Ottawa.The service was fast & friendly and the atmosphere is typical 'hole in the wall' type of place which is what I was expecting it to be, no problem with that, the interior was sparse but clean with a couple of smaller tables with a chair at each as it's not a eat-in restaurant.Overall we were a bit disappointed and likely won't return as we are aware of better pizza's in Ottawa."

"Julucas was amazing! Italian food was great, hot and plenty of it. Home made pasta, amazing. Flavoured to perfection. We were celebrating a 60th birthday and placed the order the day before asking for a specific delivery time. They were on time and the celebration went on without a flaw. Highly recommended. Give this local restaurant a try. You won’t regret it."

"The Metcalfe Fare is in the same spot as the not sadly lamented "Fosters Bar and Grill" which arrived and thankfully departed soon afterwards. We decided to try the brunch at this latest version of a restaurant on their opening day. Straight away upon arrival we noticed it was busy, plenty of cars and customers in view. Upon entering the establishment I could see that they had made some changes to the layout around the kitchen. Whereas it had been open concept before, the new owners have closed it in with a tasteful electronic fireplace and stone facia. They also put in a half wall, dividing the bar from the dining room.We were shown to our table, given menus and asked our beverage preferences. The wait staff were still learning the menu, buy hey its the first day. There was a respectable number of items to choose from. I chose their breakfast burger which came with an egg on top. One friend went for their big breakfast which was to include three eggs. The other friend chose Eggs Benedict. The waitress said they were out of either the homefries or hashbrowns, she didn't have that memorized either. We told her to go with whichever was available. When the food arrived there were a few hiccups. Instead of three eggs, my friend had two very overcooked sad looking things. He brought this to our waitresses attention, which she took pains to correct with the kitchen straight away.In looking at the ham on the plate, the thickness was laughable, the slice was sandwich thin, not what you're expecting for breakfast. The sausage also could have been bigger too.The Eggs Benedict were, I am told, pretty good but not the best she had eaten. My burger was very tasty but the hashbrowns were cold and a mix of over and under cooked.Pat's eggs did return and the waitress said she had had a bit of a disagreement with the cook over this. Later, they came by with more eggs...We were not the only table with opening day teething problems as we could see another table close by that had issues with their big breakfast too.Our waitress told us the owners of this incarnation had other establishments in the city proper and she was usually there but came out to help out.The prices were, we felt, more like city centre ones and not usual for the countryside. Perhaps if they had some fruit as well as can be found on a "Cora's" plate then the price could be justified. So, to sum up. The layout and decor is an improvement over the last restaurant in this location. The menu is bigger and unlike Foster's they actually have available what's on it. The prices are a bit too much for the portions and location. Wait staff are friendly and efficient. There were the opening day gremlins but these seem to be in their kitchen staff. They need to get their cooks sorted out, quickly. Yes, I will give them another try, but not for breakfast."

"I last came here three years ago and used to be quite happy back then, see my previous review. The quality of the food is still OK and the service is still very friendly and efficient, but i wasn't completely happy with my grilled veggie...wraps this time. The taste was still OK, but nothing special, and they were smallish and somewhat expensive"
