"My wife has been dying to go back to 500 Cucina since our daughter was born. This time we came with two additional guests; our young daughter and grandma. Last time we went it was AMAZING! We wanted to order the three course tasting but because it is a daily selection and she was pregnant we didn't take it because of the uncertainty of what might come. Well this night we made up for lost time. So grandma, my wife and I all took part in the three course tasting (heads up, if you want the tastings 3 or 5 courses, the entire table has to order it) and it was excellent. We started with a Caprese Salad, then a spaghetti carbonara and finished with a 14oz Ribeye and truffle fries. The food was spot on. The tomatoes of the salad were fresh out of a garden. Nice acidity in the dressing really highlighted the sweetness of the tomatoes. It was a refreshing start to the meal. The carbonara was wonderful. The pasta was cooked to perfection, the sauce was creamy and smooth. I could have eaten six bowls to myself. Everyone loved it. The steak was cooked to perfection (medium rare) and the truffle fries were savour bite of heaven. The steak was seasoned to perfection which just made it a great finish to the three courses. The one thing I loved about service, is it is done family style. The server plated the salad and steak when they arrived. We each had our own bowl for the pasta which was the perfect size for a tasting menu. Also compliments to our server. She was wonderful with our 1 year old. Now we did eat early at 5:30pm but it really made for a wonderful experience. We had a lot of attention from the server and we had plenty of space for the high chair. The service tonight matched the service we had about a year ago. We all left feeling very satisfied and very full. We look forward to returning as we always have great service and love the spirited atmosphere."
