"I have been eating here consistently for nearly three years and I've tried many Indian restaurants in the GTA. I can confidently say The Shish Mahal is my all time favourite Indian restaurant. From the quality service to the pleasant experience with the owner and chef, this place is everything I like in a small local restaurant. The butter chicken and naan are my personal favourites. Garlic naan is also great. I eat the chicken and fish tikka weekly. The pakora and samosas are great starters. Love to end my meal with their gulab jaman for dessert. The reason I always find myself coming back is I don't find their dishes to be oily and they use quality meat. Happy to recommend this place to all friends and family."

"Restaurant Review: Desi Bar and Grill @ MississaugaThe name itself is funny. As a "Desi" I would think this place would be teeming with bewdas (drunkards) and dance girls - Bombay dance bar style. Surprisingly it wasn't. In fact it was a quite a cute place with carefully thought decor and placing. On one side was the bar and on the other side the dining area. A mid height wall divided both. Bewdas on one side - families on the other. Here is my personal experience and review:Location: On Rathburn and Cawthra, this place is in a strip mall amongst some overpriced small homes, discount stores etc. The place by itself is easily accessible and plenty of parking right near the door. Ambience: Right as we entered there was a pile of cheap patio chairs stacked up at the entrance (one day the owners would find time to move them out of the way), and a dirty linen or two. A "Ganpati" murti (statue) welcomes you and right near it is the bar area (again reminded me of some dance bars in Mumbai andheri area). Interestingly there was no lingering smell of stale curry, alcohol or human accidents. The place needs a bit of a makeover (like the chairs were a bit worn out and had seen better days), tables could have done with a bit of varnish. Outside there was a man who had had one too many. The owner was gently and very politely coaxing him to a taxi. Well done. That's how you treat customers no matter what stage they are in. Servers and service: FANTASTIC. Wonderful youngsters, perfectly trained. You didn't need to wait for them or call them through out the dinner. They would magically appear by our side at the right moment. Menu: An eclectic collections of food items. Nothing made any sense but everything was familiar. Felt like a food court. Food: we ordered the following :Banta Lemonade: refreshing desi style Lemonade with soda and masala (spice mix). Very nice. Dosa: what can I say. I was surprised that a place like this could make such a good dosa, sambhar and serve it with three delicious chutneys in the night. Bhuna Gosht: This came recommended by the server. Not very impressed. The cook has a heavy hand with salt and tomatoes. The meat pieces were tender. Overall a good dish. Pepper Chicken: not worth commenting on. Shrimp Biryani: Pretty good. Nice light and fluffy. Rasmalai: the server said it was home made (I think she meant in their kitchen) I thought it was store bought, and my wife thought it was made with ricotta cheese. Who knows but it was delicious. Now comes the interesting part - I think this is great place to have a private "Desi" party of 30-50 people. They have large screens, DJ on select days, dance floors, Lights and desi food. No other place has it all like them. Definitely worth hosting a small dinner there. Maybe Christmas??"

"This restaurant should not make a statement best butter chicken in town at all, because what we got was so bad, you can only taste tomato sauce and cardamoms, Dal makhani was bland had no flavor....Would not recommend this place, they charge you for the price of a fine Indian cuisine, quality of the food is bad....never going back again."

"Garam Masala restaurant, reasonable price and high quality restaurant. Five star chef really doing the excellent work. I often go to India due to my work and know local dishes very well. I tried other indian restaurant here but doesn't find that real taste. Garam...Masala has wide variety of different flavor dishes. There unique tasting dishes like Tandoori fish, lamb chop masala, Chicken Lavabdar, palak paneer, garlic nan and Peshwari Nan. If anybody wants to try true indian cuisine and doesn't want to go India, You must try Garam Masala Restaurant."
