"Location wise it is a bit of a challenging trek driving uphill through narrow winding roads especially in wintry weather. Once there you get a lovely panoramic view of the valley. Access is via a steep staircase with no disable/ pushchair access. Being a trattoria this is a no frills family run restaurant offering generously sized hearty dishes. Ingredients are sourced locally, including a nice super value house red wine. Beware though, if you are after a light meal or on a diet this may not be for you, typical Valtellinese cuisine is very tasty due to its high fat content! We enjoyed every dish from the mixed platter with the yummy bean cheese mash to the delicious pizzoccheri. We struggled to finish our mains so didn’t have dessert, although the options sounded very appealing as well. I’m saying ‘sounded’ because unfortunately there’s no written menu and you are supposed to remember the dishes with local names recited by the owner and make a choice there and then which is not ideal for Italians from other regions, never mind foreigners! Overall a satisfying meal and great value for money."

"Lunch at this place was excellent. The meet, the pasta made of buckweat, which is local specialty,and wine selection was really nice. The only reason why we didn't visit it again was that it was a long walk from the place we stayed. According to me the best place to eat in Tirano."

"Excellent dinner with typical products of Valtellina, in particular the really good lazzoccheri, a pleasant surprise never having tasted them. Red wine of the perfect Valtellina, however the glass was less full than the glass I usually drink, but this did not remove anything to the taste The price conforms to the menu, just and not expensive. Atmosphere of the charming place in a period building."
