"One learns to have lowered and reasonable expectations for a townie joint. Talk of the Town sets a new low. This is a bar, with bar food, bar service, and bar quality. I live and work within a mile of TotT. I’ve eaten there about once a month for at least a decade. About a year ago, new ownership took over and things seemed to take an upward turn for a while. But it didn’t last. Now TotT is just nasty and boring. The food is painfully average and the service is deteriorating precipitously. The LAST time I ate there was for their new Sunday brunch. The limited fare was bland, boring, greasy and grossly overpriced at around $18 per person. There were also some “irregularities” in the bill – double charging for soft drinks and inconsistent sales tax charged. With Barley’s Brewhaus next door and so many other restaurants in close proximity, there is absolutely no reason to eat at this washed-up old haunt anymore."

"The atmosphere in this place is fantastic, and there are people all over the cafe playing any number of games from board to TTRPG.Service is usually excellent, but they have been shorthanded lately (as a lot of places . Even with that said, you can tell they are trying their best to accommodate the customers as quickly as they can.They feature a QR based food ordering system, and it is all waffle-based. While it's not my favorite type of food, there is a constant stream of food orders coming over the bar. They do serve alcohol, and in addition to beer, they also have a weekly(? special mixed drink.It's a fun place with a cool relaxing atmosphere, and if you enjoy playing games, you will probably enjoy this place as much as I do.Parking: If this place gets busy, parking can be a bit difficult to find sometimes. For instance, during a party, you may be parking the width of 15 parked cars away.Wheelchair accessibility: The main curb outside does have a wheelchair accessible ramp, I do not believe CCC's doors have automatic opening for wheelchair users. That said, the two levels of the cafe and it's neighboring store does have a ramp between those two that is fairly easy to access, and long enough to not cause significant issues."

"Oh a review I didn’t want to write. I probably ate original Haywards (95th and Antioch) every week in high school. (SMW). It was a football tradition for us. It was amazing. I’m sorry but the new is not. To be blunt, burnt ends “felt” nuked. Rubbery and chewy and zero flavor. Brisket looked more like beef jerky than brisket. It apparently lived in a steamer tray and not cut fresh. Pulled pork was clearly a steamer tray meat also. It was slimy and soupy and it too was flavorless and not freshly pulled and chunky like I expected. My kid had the ribs and they were good. Meaty and good flavor. I truly wish it was like Hayward Spears created, or even close to. Sadly it was 180°. Maybe it was an off night as I see many positive reviews."
