"Poor customer service by a boy who did not know how to calculate our bill. He was rude and patronising and ruined the experience. He claimed he was a senior supervisor and a manager had to come and take over. He tried to overcharge after being told several times service charge would not be paid. He was still protesting we pay it into our bill. Such an awful boy to represent your restaurant. Our waiter however was a lovely informative young woman and we appreciated her time and efforts before it was ruined."

"At the end this was amazing and we will keep it for a return visit in the eye, but for the netzen instead of the tee. we originally booked a few days ago. this was tried by the kitchen, but not to a very good standard. we were very impressed and pleased with the attention we were given when we complained and they realized that the food offered was not the wow experience they should expect from the afternoon. instead we ordered from the main menu without fee for the tee (the went uneaten over the first few dried sandwiches). both the steak and the lobster were excellent in quality and worth. Unlimited fries and a devilish but exquisite dessert (the signature marmelade with honeywood,) accompanied by earthy and a raised sugar nest, made for an excellent dinner and totally saved the night, which after the outfall of the afternoon over repair. very happy to have found the place; only not for afternoon tea! raw oil"

"In the end, this was amazing and we'll keep it in mind for a return visit, but for the mains rather than the tea. We originally booked for afternoon tea at short notice. This was attempted by the kitchen but not to a very good standard. We were thoroughly impressed and pleased with the attentiveness that we were given when we complained and they realised that the food offered did not constitute the wow experience that you should expect from afternoon tea. We instead ordered from the main menu with no charge for the tea (which went uneaten beyond the first few dried-out sandwiches). Both the steak and the lobster were excellent in quality and value. Unlimited fries and a devilish but exquisite dessert (the signature jam jar with honeycomb), accompanied by strawberries and a sublime sugar nest, made for an outstanding dinner and totally rescued the night that was looking beyond repair after the failure of afternoon tea. Very happy to have found the place; just not for afternoon tea! Rohan"
