"Came here while on a work trip. I was skeptical because how can it be good this far from Hawaii or the west coast. The staff helped explain the process and I used the touch screen to build my own bowl. Started with the sushi rice and my two proteins were ahi and salmon. Added the wasabi ponzu, red onion, green onion, Daikin, white ginger, pickeld cucumber, furukake, and togaraishi. Boy was it good. I paired it with their Zucker Narco IPA. I would come back in a heart beat if I lived here. I highly recommend this restaurant."

"Great food but brunch is overpriced for the venue and service. We had Thanksgiving Brunch here and breakfast the next morning. The spaces are small and service is poor. Views of downtown and the river are great. Likely will not go back."

"Parking has decent parking in front of the restaurant and has parking opposite the restaurant, drive the ramp. Ambiente 80 90's chic restaurant feel. Let's eat a 5-course menu with wine tasting. The food was good, but I won't say it was amazing. They are known for their duck shell, but the way it was introduced, I could see blood inflammation on the side. They were friendly enough to change duck shell for my partners with Snapper fish that tasted good. The wines were good, but the last 3 tastings were all cherry I felt was too much cherry. Service, when I celebrated my partner's birthday, they called me explicitly to ask her name and gave us a signed menu as a gift. I really appreciate that gesture. Thank you. The server was friendly, but after our 2nd course kept on oblivion. I think a few guests came to celebrate something in the restaurant and they got all the candles on their dessert, but we didn't. Conclusion good food, cozy place, good wine collection, cost for 2 about $375 with lace."

"The food is just amazing and the staff very attentive and friendly. The waiter accidentally spilled some Sirup on my friends pants but immediately got her a $25 gift card and was super sorry. I am allergic to cilantro so I told the first waiter who took our order. No matter which waiter brought the food out, they confirmed that in my dish was no cilantro. I liked that very much! For my taste just a bit overpriced?"

"BEST SUSHI PLACE EVER. I came here because I felt a little 日本語. The service is great with a native Japanese sushi chef letting me practice my Japanese! Their sushi was made with such great quality you could taste every flavor in it! Even the atmosphere in the building was great. They have chopsticks for people who want to eat the traditional way, and utensils for people who don't prefer chopsticks. The party room feels like you're entering in a mini Japanese home, or maybe that's just me. Overall, a great place. Definitely recommend coming here, whether you want your food to go, or dine in. Vegetarian options: There are tons of vegetarian options! My family member who was vegan went over to Bon Sushi. He loved everything about it! Parking: Great parking opportunities. You can always rely on finding a spot to park in."

"For the record, this restaurant is now called Ichi Umi, and it is absolutely the best place for sushi in all of Austin. I've spent several vacations across Japan, and in all honesty, the meals here rival those I've enjoyed overseas. The fish is consistently amazing, with a wide variety to choose from, and always served artistically, with plentiful portions. To make the experience better, service here is also quick, attentive and non-intrusive. Try the appetizer boxes of raw octopus, ikura and tsukemono, as well as the agedashi tofu. I don't know if they make the tofu there, but it tastes homemade and is always prepared with a crispy exterior and soft, creamy interior. After 7 or 8 visits, there is still a whole portion of the menu I haven't tried, as I'm addicted to my favorites. Today we had Carrie as our server, who was incredible. She recommended a salmon special topped with caviar and gold flakes that was sublime. This restaurant provides original and exotic menu items that stray from the norm in the best way. Importantly, the prices here are competitive and the food overdelivers every time. I've been ripped off at various other places in town, where portions and quality pale in comparison to Ichi Umi."
