"Is there a more impressive location to find the famous Michelin star restaurant vendôme as the grandhotel schloss bensberg in mountain gladbach in Germany? We don't think so. the fascinating “Maison de Rétraite”, originally owned by Prince-Elector johann wilhelm ii. von düsseldorf, is based on. the modelling of kinky and winchester castle and has since been a top-class hotel. the anwesen is located at a prominent place on bensberg and offers an excellent view of the domstadt köln. in this speciality, the chef joachim wissler takes his guests on a culinary high-end trip. we are invited to explore a scala of his exquisite works of culinary art and we cannot honestly wait. a menu with a skin kitchen including the pairing of premium wines awaits us. our munde waters already. a nice contrast of the being so classic and imposing, is the modern, bright and economical interieur. there is no music playing; they only hear some courteous bozz coming from the guests in the room. so they can concentrate more on the experience of taste. bubbles o’clock. we are served a beautiful esprit brut nature champagner by henri giraud to go with our even more beautiful amuses. in no time are table full of elegant culinary delights, such as a toffee of caramelized foie gras, a wasabi macaron with longoustine, a bake of roasted calf head and escabeche of makrele with apple and cucumber ice cream. that we call a good one. the ton is set for the rest of the menu! we start with three light feeds: the first is white Piedmontese bark carpaccio with black truffle, artichoke and Parmesan cheese. the intense truffle flavor is far too dominant – just as we like it. the white alessandro viola wein offers the perfect support of the plate without modifying the taste. a wine that has completely changed because of the teller is the bio müller Thurgau wine from stefan vetter after the first cure. the court coming with it consists of otopus and ceps with lonely vinaiigrette and petersilie aioli. Apart from a beautiful crisp in it, the wine through the glass is not so special, but together with the court it really comes to life. a perfect combination. our third cure is also a really tender: blue lobster, melone, alleviated gazpacho and lobster tars. have you ever dreamed of a whistle? we have not, but we are sure that after our visit to the restaurant vendôme we will dream of it every night. this fourth cure is absolutely amazing: only the smell of it makes it longing for more. ok, listen to: farm, white alba truffle, petersilie, brown butter and jabugo bellota ibérico ham. is it better than that? the presentation in the egg-shaped bowl is also fantastic. before we go to the meat-headed dishes, we can enjoy two fish dishes. first Bavarian trout with vegetables and as second, seabread and fresh gillardeau oysters with green tomatensalsa and mangle. the vintage Veyder-Malberg-Wein from Austria offers an excellent combination with these due to saltiness and the Mediterranean notes in Austria. the main dishes of the meat are a bowl of the Mieral-Guinea-Fowl-Curry and a bowl of the saddle of the venison, brazed fennel, plucked aprikosen, venison leber and eel kompott. the Cabrida wine from capçane is so smooth, full-bodied and yet elegant enough to make a great match with the dressed. twice head dishes, twice dessert, isn't it the case? we start our sweet finale with a black forest torrough with cherry, chocolate and saw. after our first dessert we get a dessert from pure dark chocolate with grapefruitgranit and bergamotte. also the wee (from duncan savage from South Africa) are a perfect partner for the dishes. according to our experience we can conclude that the spirit beading sites and the stunning presentation of the dishes offer exactly what the eating of the main cook joachim wissler deserves prepared. the careful consideration of the food and wee is characterized by the extensive explanation of all the beautiful things that arrive on the table. recurring themes are raffinesse, balance and elegance. from a gastronomic view, this place must be an absolute one."
