"First time after covid lock down dinner and outdoor seating was great. The staff are so friendly. My full rack was so delicious fall off the bones, got 2 meals out of it. Fish and chips are good also. Must trying the ribs once you are in town. Mahalo."

"Staying at an AirBnB in Kona and when a torrential downpour started up not long before we had planned to go to dinner we decide to find someplace close by. Note that we didn't have a car so we needed to walk. The owners of the AirBnB had left a list of favorite restaurants in the area which included 5 Japanese restaurants. Sushi Cocoro Udon Noodle was not on the list and our one dining experience there showed us why. When we arrived we were shown where our table was and where the water was because water was self-serve The young lady who was our server was polite buy not personable. The place is a hole-in-the-wall kind of sushi place and often I hope for these places to be hidden gems and I'm willing to go without a lot of fancy decor and furnishings especially if the food is remarkable. It was not. Honestly I have had better sushi from groceries store deli's. It all starts with the sushi rice and they definitely failed there. I had a Sushi Combo, edamame and a bottle of Kirin beer. They don't have any beers on tap. The sushi was okay but a bit flavorless even the wasabi couldn't pack much punch. So not a place I will go back to. To their credit the prices were very reasonable. But I'd rather pay more and have quality sushi. And I will end with my pet peeve about cashing out with these new devices. I hate it when the server hands you a device to have to select the amount of the tip while he/she watches! We need to replace that system of tipping."

"Some of the best sushi I've had.. The octopus, sea urchin, and even wasabi were some of the freshest I've tasted. They went above and beyond to celebrate a special occasion in our group at the last minute too. I didn't realize there were only 4 tables in the restaurant. Felt very personal, and curated. The food and service outperforms the venue. 5/5 do recommend."

"The sushi rolls are huge. I had to cut them in half to fit in my mouth. It was good. You need to ask for any side articles, otherwise they are not included; like Wasabi, ginger, soy sauce, etc. 7 sushi rolls cost $60.00."

"Told me I ordered something different than what i said. So instead of just remaking it made me pay 2 times. So i had to pay for something i didnt even order. Extremely rude and she ignored me. Didnt offer a solution. Never coming back and making sure none of my friends come back either."

"What a find! This place is wonderful. Kona doesn't have much to look forward to food wise but Rapa Nui's is a shining ray of light. The location is just ok but the food is excellent and reasonably priced. We came across a great write up in a local paper and so decided to try it out ourselves. It was so memorable that we've been back several times since and we even take friends when they come to town. Oh, and remember to leave room for desert they have some unusual offerings that are well worth trying. My favorite's are the Wasabi Peanut Butter Balls. Sounds weird, I know, but they are dipped in chocolate and have a wonderfully complex flavor."
