"DO NOT GO HERE the facilities are run down and we were over charged. All they want is your money. We didn't see any staff (except the waitress). The owner said she would refund us the difference and give us some money back for the inconvenience of the accommodations and conditions we were in but it never happened. My husband and 2 kids and I were getting away on a much needed break and thought we would go here. When we arrived we found our cabin to be in the middle of the parking lot in the round about, we thought it was the maintenance building when we arrived.The door was frozen shut and the key wouldn't work without some fiddling with it. When we got in and the drapes were hanging down off the windows and there was no heat in the cabin. (The temp was -28C) We couldn't find the thermostat so we had to heat the cabin with the oven leaving the door open till we were warm. The baseboards were ripped apart and there was a large hole in the bedroom. The floor in the bathroom was rotten and you had to watch where you stepped. To top it off the plumbing froze so we couldn't use the toilet or water. We tried to tell someone but there was no one ever around to talk to.I called 3 times to talk to someone about the overcharge and all I got was an answering machine. When I spoke to the owner she said the plumbing usually freezes because it runs under the road. (WHY DID SHE PUT US HERE WHEN THERE WERE OTHER EMPTY CABINS) She said that she doesn't go into the cabins and said that she would refund us the difference in rate (I was charged full for a child instead of a child's rate) and some money back for the lack of heat and frozen pipes. She apologized but I have never heard back from her. Once they have your money they don't care. I called Master Card to help us but they needed paperwork and the resort didn't give us any paperwork they wanted me to write my # on a scrap piece of paper for them to charge me later (I didn't do this but when I made my original booking they took the #).THERE ARE LOTS OF RESORTS ON NIPISSING DO NOT CHOSE THIS ONE!!!"
