"I came in today and ordered coco pops for my 5 year old (and can I say genius move to put that at the top of the kids menu, once she heard coco pops there was nothing else that she wanted) and the Angus burger for me. We were seated right next to the trampoline. The little one went to the trampoline and the burger and coco pops were brought out, I went to tell my child that she should come back to eat and when I turned around there were about 6 seagulls on my burger, that was an oversight on my part. I’m not the type of person to complain so I sat down and helped my little one eat the coco pops and I drank her juice, some of the lovely patrons at the table next to me noticed I wasn’t eating and urged me to take the burger back, I did and there was no fuss, the burger was replaced no questions asked. I really appreciated that and the burger was delicious, great kids menu at great prices and what a beautiful view. Chocolate fish cafe is a hidden gem, definitely come and check it out if you’re over this way."

"Yummy sirloin 2 for $30 steak dinner !! The Chicken Rice Rissotto was also nice. So was the salmon mains. The standout mains was the Chicken Cos Lettuce Salad at $19.00. Such a large size serving!! Great attentive service by our young Chinese waitress named Jess!!"

"I go here reasonably frequently, often for meetings. Really nice place and lovely staff. Consistently good coffee which is always presented well (mochas, lattes, cappuccinos presented in a glass, the proper way). Also in a great location. Only annoyance is there's a sign to the bathrooms which are always locked, which is just generally strange, otherwise a great location. Also love how they serve you sparkling water, usually within a minute of you sitting down, even if you are yet to make a purchase. I'm not a massive fan of sparkling water, but it's a really nice touch and makes you feel welcome."

"A great place to drop in for a relaxing coffee or something more substantial from the cabinets or menu. Our coffees were delish, as was the food we chose, which included a breakfast dish of poached eggs, tons of avocado mash and some tasty looking dark bread, and a simple ham and cheese toasted panini. The sweet treats are quite a bit different from what I’ve seen elsewhere, plus they have a variety of organic rye and spelt breads for sale too. The ‘deli’ section is very small, but it contains some fine Italian meats and cheeses, all of which are cut to order. The service is hospitable, and the decor is very pleasant, the highlight for me being the wood feature wall (see photos)."

"Have visited Dockside many times and have always had good meals and staff have been great. If there is any issues, they are quickly addressed. Beautiful view if you can get a table facing the water. Recommend."

"We visited on a Monday evening so maybe quieter than other nights. The restaurant included the hotel breakfast area so a large room which felt cold and no atmosphere. Had the room been busy I'm sure a better feel.<br/ Average waitress service but good sense of humour .<br/ <br/ Food we all had the specials of the day <br/ $34 strip steak quite thick and cooked perfect medium rare, just lacking in peppercorn sauce.<br/ <br/ Wife and uncle had $26 rack of lamb with mint jus. Cooked nice and pink spot on.<br/ <br/ Auntie had pork 3 ways very happy with meal just needed some sauce.<br/ <br/ All in all good evening score based on the food. Well done chefs more sauce :"

"Amazing food and great guys. The quality of food is excellent, and it is very well priced. Always my first stop whenever I'm in Wellington. I dined regularly here when I lived in the city, and I really miss it! The Chicken Mee Goreng is to die for easily the best in Wellington."
