"It is very difficult to find an acceptable dining room in Deidesheim outside the holiday season on a working day. Therefore, I was glad when the Restaurant Zum alte Spital offered on request, despite the rest day, to open for a group of 20 people for dinner. The Weinstube is a bit hidden in a backyard on the wine road in the middle of the village. The restaurant is very rustic and cosy. But that was all that can be reported to Positive about the visit. The kind of boss of the house was hardly to be overwhelmed by unkindness. This concerned both the address and the service. There was no apple juice. The only juice on the map was the grape. Cola could not be served as it should be delivered the next day. Pils was out too. Instead, wheat was offered. The deer goulash from the map was replaced by deer roast (25 EUR). Even coffee after dinner was not served, as the coffee machine was supposed to be broken. We had the feeling that we had no desire to clean up the machine. The food supplements were served per table in a large bowl, you could do as a typical dish. However, this was not appropriate for our business dinner. In addition, the kitchen significantly reduced the amount. But the food was not really fun anyway. My liver dumplings were not really warm and the roast potatoes were very fat. The men's room was under water. This was all the more surprising when there was no water at all on the sink. Luckily, because there were no paper towels there. Even if the rest of the place was not unclean, then it seemed to be the overall impression. Rarely, when leaving a place, I felt so clearly that we were not welcome and that we were glad that our group went back to close after two hours."

"Our originally booked hotel near Kaiserslautern was unfortunately closed. Are we going home or on? We decide to continue the South Palatinate, there is a dinner and then at home. The seats in front of the historic house are well covered, a parking space quickly found. . A service staff welcomes us friendly. Yes, a table for 2 people can still be made. We'll take a seat and ask if we want an aperitif. I look forward to the short trip with an overnight stay, and I don't want to ask you home today. In short, I tell her that the aperitif would decide whether we know if there is one room for us. My husband only grinned – he was really surprised not about my overwhelming tactics. She promises to settle this. The happy news: We can stay overnight! Let's get the aperitif. For my husband the Riesling Sekt, 0.1 l to 7.20 €, for me the Pinot, 0.1 l to 7.50 €.
