"I have been last week to enjoy some days in this beautiful town. The hotel was quite good quality and price We were in the restaurant twice a week. pizza and pasta were excellent and the salad quite fresh and nice tasty Staff is so friendly Was a pleasure I am sure we come back soon"

"The seaside town of El Port de la Selva basically doesn’t come out of hibernation until April, so hotel and restaurant options are limited earlier in the year. We arrived mid-week and had two restaurant options, a local greasy spoon where the proprietor had no desire to try and communicate with us and La Tina which had been recommend by our hotel and tour company. The initial welcome was more than satisfactory and we were seated at a nice quiet corner table (there were few patrons in the restaurant but they were groups, so the corner table as much appreciated. The dining room is fun, with an old wold cavern motif (most likely authentic). The Gallican octopus was delicious, the salad was lovely but it came with meats on it which was not described on the menu and I am a non-meat eater. The house white wine was water down and half the price of a bottle of most of the bottles of wine on the menue. The house red was fine but again 8 euros for a 4 ounce pour seemed a bit much. We had three different people wait un us and in the end were over charged for an item ordered but not delivered but we were too tired to try and rectify this. They had few, if any desserts made in house, so don’t be surprised if your dessert is served in a plastic container. In summary, food good, atmosphere good, service not so much. Having working in the restaurant industry, I know how hard it can be to be attentive on a slow night, it is much easier on a busy night. I think if we had arrived with some locals, the service may have been better."
