"My friends and I went ATVing and my buddy (who spoke spanish) asked our tour guide(s) to take us to their favorite taco spot without the rest of us knowing. So to the rest of our surprise, we stopped at Tacos el Poblano. So delicious....This guy chops the asada right in front of you on his log of a cutting board. the grill is right next to him so he doesnt have to move while the rest of the ingredients are spread out on the counter in front of you. 1.70 pesos for a taco. The torta was equally as delicious. Living in Los Angeles I wasnt expecting to be so thrilled about tacos and tortas but dang. A few friends indulged on Haurache as well. We scored.We were among the locals and not a tourist in sight, except us of course"

"I often have a late breakfast when I am in downtown Ensenada restaurant that must have very good food, service, access and prices..... all of these are consistantly found at Las Cazuelitas in the downtown area. I frequent this restaurant usually at least 2-4 times...a month and here the basics are always consistently great! The great service staff warmly invite you to enter and you are always promptly seated. Parking is available in front and at the side of the cafe for your convenience. If you prefer constancy.... this establishment deserves a visit."

"Due to miscommunication with the other travelers in our group we missed our planned lunch stop just outside Rosarito and instead landed at Gary's La Fonda for lunch. We were seated on the lower patio and with the great weather we were treated to an amazing view of the Pacific. Unfortunately, after settling into my chair and soaking in the amazing view this visit fell apart. Now, I've been going to Baja for 48 years so I am well acquainted various eating establishments from the border to Ensenada and with service in Mexico. Don’t know if it was because it was mid-week but from the time drinks were ordered to settling the check, service was just unacceptable for the type of restaurant Gary’s is projecting. When your lunch menu includes filet mignon, your saying something about your establishment. Sadly, the service and the food just didn’t live up to expectations. Even for Mexican table service the waiters on shift were extremely slow taking orders and bringing drinks and food. I ordered the sea bass plate and my wife ordered the Chile Verde plate. We had to order off menu for our kids because they were craving carne asada tacos. After receiving my fish plate I told my wife I think they purchased frozen filets from Costco. Wasn’t very pleasing. The Chile Verde my wife ordered had extremely fatty pieces of pork and the green chile was a thick paste and lacking fresh chile flavor. It appeared as if the chile verde had been over cooked. Except for my nine-year old, who likes his tacos plain (meat/tortilla), the other kids gave the tacos a thumbs down. I’ll say the only positive of our lunch was the view of the Pacific. Given the number of great restaurants popping up along the Hwy 1, Gary’s La Fonda needs to really re-access their menu and table service."

"We were staying nearby, and ate here a few times....the last time we had food here it was a Saturday late afternoon, sat outside to watch the sunset, which is spectacular, they will allow your dog on the patio outside. Started off with the best margaritas, Miguel makes the best ever margaritas.....our friends who come here won't have a margarita unless Miguel is working. Dinner was good.....I had blackened fish, wife had deep fried calamari.....we enjoyed our food. But that night I was very ill. I never went back and I didn't tell the restaurant I had been ill. I did eat salsa out of a bowl....wife didn't eat any. So I don't know what hit me. I was debating if I should mention my experience on tripadvisor. Wife's experience was fine, but not mine. The food here seems to be up and then down. It puts you off going back, at least for awhile. The restaurant has a spectacular setting under Palm trees and right on the ocean, which is stunning."

"I met a client for lunch at Casa Magnolia recently for a lunch meeting and was impressed by the very nice view of the Pacific and the very efficient staff. We were warmly received and welcomed at the front entrance and escorted to a nice view table. The service was great but the food was just average. The location and ample parking in the rear makes this restaurant a nice rendezvous spot for evening cocktails......"

"Unfortunately the service we experienced was less than adequate. I wish I could say the food made up for the poor service but the shrimp I had was over cooked. It’s a shame because the atmosphere gives the appearance that this will be a pleasant...dining experience. Too bad."

"Went here for lunch after a trip to Hussongs. It is big, clean, not too touristy or rowdy and looks new. There were eight of us and everyone loved their meal. They make the tortillas on display and the gal give my husband one hot...off the grill. Friendly attentive service. The Mariachis stroll here too, so have some small bill on hand to hear your favorites. We will be back!"
