"Situated in Gloucester historic docks, by the water, this tiny shop take away only with no seating) sells only toasted sandwiches but, boy are they all GOOD! Lots of choice of fillings and they are all delicious. David does not skimp on the fillings. You can order in advance or just turn up, but be prepared for a short wait as it is all cooked to order, super fresh. The owner and cook is David who is friendly and chatty and does everything himself. We had a Paddington brie, red onion marmalade), a Fiery Welsh Dragon cheddar, leeks and tabasco), a Sticky chicken chicken with sweet chilli sauce and mozzarella) and a Meaty Marathi chicken tikka onion bhaji with mint sauce) all absolutely delicious and very filling. It's so hard to choose which one to have! Highly recommended."

"I think this cafe has been taken over by a different company which explains why our lunch was perfectly acceptable. We both had jacket potatoes which were extremely good (I am not usually a potato lover so to say I enjoyed this is extremely rare! . The weather was fine enough to eat outside and the view over the lake and the activities of the water fowl made it an even better experience. I suggest you ignore the previous reviews and give it a try as it is a lot better than many places we have eaten."

"Table of 7 and the service and food was fab . The manager got us in 30 mins before our booking on a busy weekend . They served Great festive cocktails and even though Prosecco wasn’t on the drinks menu if you ask they sell it by the large bottle . Food was hot and tasty defo will return"

"The Fountain Inn in Gloucester is situated in a nice part of the city centre, very near the beautiful cathedral. The interior of the pub really does, as advertised, look like a country pub. It's small inside but has two dining areas, so for meals it accommodates more than appears to be the case on first impression. The food is absolutely first rate quality and a very reasonable price. Whilst the pub feels warm and inviting and the other patrons we meet are often friendly, as regular visitors we've unfortunately found that the same can occasionally not be said for many of the staff. Whilst service at the bar is usually quick and we're tended to at table very diligently, many of the staff, regardless of age, can be monosyllabic when spoken to, can come across as sullen and can occasionally even be quite rude and brusque in response to friendly enquiries or order requests especially when they're busy. This is a shame for a pub which otherwise faultless."

"First visit to Nando’s and were treated really well with the menu fully explained. Food was of a high standard and came exactly as ordered. Decent size portions, good atmosphere in a clean restaurant. Worth a visit."
