"Cruise stop (Carnival Spirit Feb 09). Forgot the name of the beach we wanted to go to so the cab took us to the only one I could remember - La Boquita. Soon realized we had made a mistake - very dirty beach, tables, nervous about ordering food and felt somewhat unwelcome. My husband and I walked along the beach back in the direction of the cruise ship dock feeling very downhearted and still somewhat queasy from the ship (sticking to Carib cruises after this). Finally came to El Indio; This little restaurant felt like an oasis in the desert! We were treated like royalty and made very comfortable in the upstairs open air diningroom. Shamefully, I can't remember the name of the owner who chatted with us at length and even drove us, gratis, to a nearby taxi area when we were ready to go. The waves were a little higher than suited us but we had fun being tossed about a bit in them. Had a meal and several Dos xxx beer - lovely stuff - all for under $30. A lovely afternoon and the highlight of the trip. Our host admired my husband's snorkelling mask and asked if he would sell it - we were glad to leave it for him as a tip. Would not hesitate to recommend this establishment to anyone and look forward to going back when we stay in Manzanillo (would not recommend cruising there unless you like a bumpy ride)."

"We had seen this restaurant as we walked along the pier earlier in the week. My husband decided he wanted to have his birthday dinner here so we made reservations (which we did not need). When we arrived they had put Happy Birthday on our...table with small little pink flowers. It was so lovely. My girlfriend and I ordered the short ribs. NOT like in the US. Thin piece of meat rather tough, but live and learn. Next time I will know. Everyone else raved about the food. The service was a bit slow, but my husband does not liked to be rushed so it was fine with us. We enjoyed the beauty of the ocean while having great conversation with our best friends."

"A little hard to reach but when we arrived at the desk of the hotel they arranged a cart to take us to the restaurant. Wonderful service, great food and most attentive staff made out short visit a real pleasure. Views from the restaurant are...superb !!!"

"We met here for dinner. we've been there for many years. it was not very busy when we arrived, got our drinks ordered and I had a nice meal there filet mignon, which was mouth water and the vegts. all our meals here excellent. the service was a little slow, but gave us more time to visit. we'll be back. the meal was also appropriate for what we receive. Thanks again for a great dinner."

"Kitchen does not open until 6:00 for dinner. It was easy to get a table on a Sunday night. Food was tasty, but the portions are on the smaller size. View is outstanding. Service was good."
