"I ate dinner here on a Wednesday evening in November. I ordered a grilled veal chop, and asked for it to be served with fried potatoes and salad. That 's exactly how it came. The veal really was yearling beef, which is par for the course. It was nicely grilled and too big for one person. I ordered a bottle of a vinho verde tinto (young red wine) from the Monção sub-region, which was a very reasonable five euros. No one else arrived in the restaurant after I stepped through the door at 7:20 p.m. When I left at nine-something (having lingered over the wine and a round of a quite nice local cheese), the proprietor had the keys in the lock, ready to lock up behind me. The entire experience was perfectly acceptable: nothing really to complain about, but nothing to rave about either. The total tab came to exactly twenty euros."
