"We went to the walk up window on a Thursday at around 12:45pm. We placed our order, which was three orders of the 2 piece fish and chips. The gal at the window repeated it back to us as two orders of the three piece fish and chips, what resulted next was a constant back and forth that was comical but sad consistent repeat of no THREE orders, you know what screw it whatever yes it 's all the same in the end we need 6 pieces of fish however we get there is however we get there. The girl was either new and poorly trained, or she has no business being an order taker as she seemed very very overwhelmed. She the said it would be a 15 minute wait. We watched order after order come through, and food being brought out but it was sunny so we waited, and waited, and waited... finally after 36 minutes my husband went up to check on the order. After gently reminding her of the order (three two pieces of the fish and chips, don 't you remember the back and forth struggle when we ordered?!? she handed my husband a bag that was sitting to the side and giggled while saying, oh here you are! We went to the beach and opened up the bag to find we got two orders of two piece fish and chips... we were so done with the whole situation at that point that we didn 't even bother going back. The fries were cold (as expected as I 'm sure the bag was sitting for quite a while the fish crust was super crunchy, but the fish itself was dry and bland. The ONLY saving grace was the tarter sauce, oh my god I want to get buckets and buckets of the tarter sauce. It saved the cold fries and the bland fish. It turned this 1 start review into three stars as it has been 24 hours and I am still thinking about the tarter sauce... We won 't be back... but get the tarter sauce if you decide to take a chance and order from here, just don 't try and order three of anything..."

"Our youngest visit in their common was very refreshing. it has well maintained outside spaces and the care of the inhabitants was very impressive. everyone seemed happy and tidy. beauty salon and bright window-lit dining areas make this a real plus. the staff is very friendly and their managers have many good incentives for security."

"We went there specifically for the crab cake appetizer. We each had that, their house salad and two different, wonderful desserts (apple wontons and white and dark chocolate mousse). Our waitress was new but proved to be very efficient, friendly and cool under pressure as she was the only server that evening! Cudos to her and to John's for hiring and training. We will definitely be returning."

"One of our favorite beaches due to clean, non-stinky water and beautiful views. Unlimited rocks for kids to throw. Fire pits. Most days you'll see the ferry boats come and go, trains go by, and airplanes fly overhead. Has chowder bowls and ice cream for sale across the street. Only downside is paying for parking, around $4.50 for 2 hours."

"Went for brunch and it was excellent! Beautiful fruit plate and a sticky bun to begin....and a mimose. And the meal was delicious. Great day on the deck also in the sun!"

"It's been a while since I've found another cafe with such a nice environment, great food, and pretty good coffee. Plenty of outdoor seating it's a little tight inside, but there tends to be a seat or two available at any given moment. I'll definitely be coming back here when I have the chance."
