"The patio overlooking the lake and all the children playing on the lawn was lovely; staff was generous and attentive but not hovering. The food both nights was really good; a wonderful surprise in a familyoriented summer resort hotel. Arctic char was perfectly cooked and flavourful and the Caesar salad w BC prawns, kale chips and a sun dried tomato tapenade was one of the best I’ve had. Well considered and varied choices of local wines both by the glass and bottle. There are precious few good restaurants in the immediate Osoyoos area but this is worth the trip"

"I arrived the morning, starving. Originally, had not expected so many vegan options, but they had a fairly wide and tasty selection. ends up getting the mushroom / kartoffel croissant, pfirsich croissant, mocha muffin, chocolate chip cookie and a whole tomaten pesto focaccia for later. most of their offers are plant-based, also some gf. everything was delicious, the staff very friendly, kovid security measures were great to definitely come back. go early when they can or preorder when they run fast."

"Wow what a difference between the crap at the copper cup in Penticton yesterday and the excellent food and service today at Owl. The same owner. Had an upbeat fun server called Kelly today, which made our culinary experience very pleasant. Quesadilla and the lemon... Ribs were made as if Mamma had made them. It wasn't in the awhile, but it wasn't disappointed. Suitable prices for beer as well as a good selection. We'll be back soon. Perhaps the owner should share their expertise with their other terrible pub."

"We visited the Diamond based on several good ratings and reviews (understanding that this is not always relevant in today’s market), but were regretfully surprised by the experience. The room is extraordinarily dated, which is the first and very least of the prospective consumer’s concern....The weathered carpets, booth seats and otherwise don’t add to the ambiance. The food; it’s passable for a roadside diner or truck stop, but barely. However, you will pay steakhouse prices. We ordered a lot of food, and without being specific, the quality of the product served is certainly not a priority here. This is especially disappointing, since there are so many opportunities to acquire fresh produce and meat from the farms nearby. As an interesting side note there were about 40 cases of their “house made vinaigrette” stored in boxes from a supplier in the hallway leading to the restrooms.. The drink; despite an elaborate menu, was frankly disappointing, after ordering some “house specialties” that turned out to be sugary variations of otherwise classic cocktails. The service; sincere, and somewhat intuitive. Certainly the only redeeming quality of the experience. Overall, as a “top rated” restaurant in Osoyoos, I say this is boldly erroneous, and I concede that online platforms are primarily to blame, but COME ON PEOPLE! Clearly a lack of competition, and an aging market share has contributed to their success, but I fear this will not last forever. Hopefully there is still time for the Diamond to change it’ ways."

"The chinese food wasnt bad. We had chicken chow mien, ginger beef, and wor wonton soup. All three were good but nothing to rave about. The sushi wasnt horrible, but would definitely be below average. What really stood out was how horrible the service was. We had to go up and ask for every single thing we wanted....to order, drinks, cutlery, napkins, etc. First time I have tipped $0 in a VERY long time."

"As soon as we walked into mckia's we were greeted promptly and was given a choice of a booth or table.The restaurant tables were beautifully set as if you were at a party/event, a very nice touch. It was a busy friday night as we can see a large group was in the back room,another table of 15-20 persons walked in behind us and a couple other small groups.Our server did inform us not to worry about the amount of people in the establishment,that she will get to us in a timely fashion.The restaurant did their best to handle the groups before them and did so flawlessly.Our meals were picture perfect,tasty hot and artistically presented,down to our salads the leaves were crisp and fresh.We would definitely be back and it was well worth the wait and the prices were for sure pocket friendly especially with a large family.Side note: This is a family owned restaurant with top quality food, family friendly with reasonable priced meals and to complete your experience a warm frIendly chef's, servers and greeter.************IT IS NOT A FAST FOOD ESTABLISHMENT.* We enjoyed our meals and the service*"
