"We visited Lebre from a recommendation at one of the gift shops while in Fatima. We are glad we went. The food was fresh and delicious. Prices were also good. Not cheap, but not expensive either. Since things closed early we ordered food to take back to our hotel room as well for a late night snack."

"We stayed at Casa Das Irmas Dominicanas with a group for a week. While the hotel is basic it has a lot of charm and is very cosy. It is also well located within Fatima and is popular with pilgrims. The Dominican nuns, while present, are not involved with the running of the establishment which is handled by professionals . Unfortunately, the staff are anything but professional. Upon arrival the reception staff could not tell us when our rooms would be ready and we were left waiting for several hours before we finally got rooms, only for some of us to find that they had not been cleaned since their previous occupation. The worst service was however in the restaurant where waiting staff were rude and unhelpful. Members of our group were left waiting for their food whilst others had been served. Any polite request for service was received with rudeness. Frankly, it was very disappointing and had we not prepaid for the week we would have left and eaten outside. To be fair, there was the odd rose amongst the thorns when it came to the staff, but sadly the general shambolic and rude nature of most of the staff would not allow us to recommend this hotel to future visitors. The old nuns are lovely however and we can only imagine that the place would be a much nicer place to stay if they were still in charge."

"For several years, I have been passing on the main road not far from this restaurant but the fact of not seeing it did not encourage me to go there except at the beginning of May. The welcome from the two young ladies was exemplary and extremely helpful. We chose the dish of the day formula, namely, turkey, chicken, salmon... And we did not regret it, all with soup, house wine and pear coffee 6.50e. A real surprise knowing that the room is large and air-conditioned, in short, much more pleasant than other restaurants/churrasqueira. Our only regret is not having come sooner. In any case, we will come back on our next vacation."

"My wife and I stopped in Fátima (unusual we know! on our week long honeymoon trip in Portugal. Walking around, looking for dinner, we were bored of the usual “Bacalau” or “Sardines” that are on offer in every local and wanted to try something new....In usual circumstances, you would take one look at this restaurant from the outside, and never look at it again. If for some strange reason you did look inside, and take a step in to 1980’s China, you would quickly step back out and run. For some unusual reason, my wife decided to stay. Maybe it was the big smile of the chef or the endless possibilities of what could be if we just walked past. We stayed! We made our own table outside, there was no way we would sit inside. I forgot to mention that there was not another soul in the restaurant, and nobody showed during our dinner either. The manager speaks zero English, but that added to the authenticity of this mainland Chinese joint in Fátima. To the order, we needed to stay safe. No risks could be taken. We ordered chilli pork, sweet and sour chicken, egg fried rice, duck, beers and water. Fearing the worst, I scanned through the window for the position of the nearest lavatory. But as we slowly had one fork after the other, the food took its charm. Before we knew it, our plates were empty, our bellies full and our disbelief massive. The chicken could have been made at Park Chinois in London for all we know fresh, authentic and delicious. The prices are reasonable remember where you are and what you had. Try it once and never look back! London couple."
