"First time here and obviously it was a very hot bank holiday so it was super busy but very enjoyable,the pier is short so not a long walk at all followed by ice cream and a visit to the sweet shop.parking Is difficult to come by"

"Lovely views. Scenery is breathtaking. About a 1 1/2 mile walk from one side of the barrage to the other. A great piece of engineering. Even saw the Enormous Crocodile from Roald Dahl children's book."

"Disappointment, booked for 4 and initially the lady reception was very friendly leading us to our table. we waited 15 minutes to be served, I asked for a big glass wine, 3 koks and gave our lunch order. it was the Sunday lunch card that was placed our table with wine glasses, our starter came before our drinks. no water offered me to ask when they supplied the drinks, they did not take away the 4 unwanted glasses and my wee came as a small measure. I had to take the glasses from the table so that they served the Sunday dinner that came 30 minutes after the starter. No sign of a clearing of the table and I asked the bill of 3 employees. Finally, the bill we were separated that they were totally confused and there was an 11 pfund service fee that I asked to be removed as the service was not what we expected. none of us really enjoyed lunch and will not come back because the experience in our opinion was quite stressful. beautiful decoration inside and so a candy."

"I have stayed here many times as a elderly woman on her own. The last time was 2 weeks ago. The staff were very tentative to my needs as I was visiting my son in hospital.....They were exceptional in everyway making sure my stay was memorable. Rooms are excellent very individual. Dining room facilities were very good. The food and beverage and choices extremely good. I took advantage of using the Spa facilities to unwind after spending a full day visiting the hospital. Again the Spa staff were lovely and professional in every way. The garden was emaculate and the view to die for.....All in all. I would definitely recommend a stay at Holm House Hotel. Penarth."
