"It was my first time trying this restaurant, Tahdig with Gheimeh was fantastic; it was served with hot and crispy saffron rice. For the main course, I had beef Sultani which was marinated very well, barg meat was as soft as jegar, if you know what I am talking about, the kubideh was average, I had a better experience in few other places, for dessert I had mixed Faloodeh and Saffron Ice cream, which was delicious. The ambiance was classy and clean, with light Persian music playing in the background, and the servers and host were attentive and cared for you like you were their everyday customer, which I liked very much because it rarely happens in Persian restaurants to have this professionalism. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to taste authentic Persian cuisine. To the restaurant: The faloodeh part was more ice cube than the faloodeh noodles, and the saffron ice cream was fantastic. The Martini glass in which it was served is beautiful when you look at it but not good when you want to eat! With one hand, I needed to grab the glass stem, and with the other hand struggling to grasp or split the cubes, I think it is more practical to use a bowl for faloodeh/ice cream than a Martini glass."

"The other day, my wife shared a list with me from Timeout of the coolest neighborhoods in the world. Listed number 4 was Ridgewood in Queens. As someone who reps Queens all the time, I all of a sudden felt guilty for always overlooking Ridgewood as a place folks should check out. I immediately made it a priority to grab a bite somewhere in Ridgewood. Yelping helped us decide on checking out Norma's Corner Shoppe. I am very happy we made that choice! We decided to show up there on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30 pm. From the outside you can immediately tell the place is pretty small. They have a few tables outdoors and no seating inside. We got lucky that we found a table outside in a corner where we could also park our baby stroller. On the inside, the place is very simplistic and cute. The line was very orderly and folks did a great job of cramming inside to wait to place their order. Something that really made me appreciate how great their customer service is was that a young lady in front of me had a very loud and expletive emotional outburst because they were feeling anxiety around what to order, and the staff were very patient and understanding because I think they understood that the person may have special needs. Another thing that stood out to me in a good way was how racially diverse the staff are. The food and drink menus are posted by the register. Their selection of sandwiches are very diverse and unique. They also had a diverse menu of options for your drink. If you get a drink, you have to wait inside, which is a bit challenging because it gets really crowded in there. If you order food, they come outside and look for you to give it to you. I ordered the New Yorker, which was very very good! I love how they toasted the bread and the spicy bacon was really on point. I also got Norma's Ole coffee which was very well balanced. I also got two of their baked goods, banana chocolate muffin and peanut butter cookie, which also had really great flavor and texture. There was a miscommunication related to my order, and they gave my wife a Ranchero on the house, which was deeply appreciated and acknowledged with an extra $10 tip! I really loved my experience here, and I definitely plan to make more trips to Ridgewood to see if Timeout is on to something."

"When the hostess arrives, she does not ask me about the reservation, she accommodates a couple who arrived at the same time as me and never returns, which was annoying (the place was not even full) later, under the host on the second floor, I showed her my reservation and she located me at the table (if they don't have a reservation they don't give them the tables in the front so the place is empty) the food was very good although from the start I didn't feel that they were very friendly, prices vs. excellent quality and they have a good internet connection, I think they also serve mimosas at brunch ask about that when you go i'm not sure"
