"Bad service if not null, very high prices, poor food, fish had passed. We had to ask at least 7 times the cutlery and napkins because they had brought the appetizer without these. The clam pasta was simple oil pasta not to mention the mussels simply flavored"

"The food here was equally as good as what we had tried and ate previous nights on our stay in Scilla. However, the service could be improved and be more attentive, it wasn’t terrible by any means but the host wasn’t the best and the two gents try to wait were of similar ilk. I would suggest trying other local restaurants for a better experience before considering il casato."

"Fantastic experience at this top notch restaurant. Starting from the service, very professional but which made us feel pampered and perfectly accompanied the exquisite dishes. We really appreciated the quality and the fresh fish, but the strong points of the place are certainly the hospitality and kindness of the owners. We will definitely be back to try other specialties!"

"Set in an old fisherman’s ‘hood this eatery specialises in Calabrese seafood with a nice choice of local vino. The small interior expands outdoors on a wooden pier over the water. Its off the tourist radar but this is Calabria."

"I’ve eaten in my fair share of top restaurants across Italy, the USA, and many other countries. My mother is a classic southern Italian mom who is an excellent cook. Same with my entire family. We always eat well, using top products and taking no shortcuts in preparation. We live to eat. All that said, I ate lunch here today for the first time after being tired of all of the places on the water, and had the most incredible eggplant parmigiana I’ve ever had. I didn’t know it could taste that good, and I’ve eaten it every imaginable way, hundreds if not a thousand or more times . It was so delicious that I dreamed about it while at the beach and came back at 6pm when they reopened (4.5 hours later) for more!!! IT. IS. SIMPLY. INCREDIBLE. Baffled by how delicious it is, I ordered other things on the menu too just to see if the other items were nearly as good grilled chicken thighs and fagiolini beans, and they were the same OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! The owner is super friendly, only uses local natural ingredients at peak freshness, and has almost 40 years of experience (cooking since he was 10 years old)!!! I will forever be coming back to Scilla and this restaurant is the main reason why!!!! Also I will be taking back trays of food so from time to time I can thaw out a slice of heaven while back home in Tuscany. This is my first review ever as I’ve never felt so strongly about recommending a place and paying it forward!! ENJOY!!!"
