"Thanks to chefs Will and Mary for delicious meals and Caitlin for great front of house service. We had the duo of lamb, which was cooked just as I asked. Succulent rump of lamb with flavoursome gravy and tasty shepherds pie. The other main was sea bass. Which was cooked to perfection and served with silky mash and a tasty sauce. Well done everyone we will be back."

"We arrived for a 5 night stay in The Smithy on 31/05/23 for a birthday getaway. We received a very warm welcome from Mandy and Stuart, owners of the pub. The cottage that Mandy showed us around was fabulous in every way, very tastefully converted, ideal for a couple. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we had been supplied fresh bread and milk, jams butter and water which after our journey was very much appreciated. We had a couple of amazing meals, all local fresh produce which was prepared by Stuart (great culinary skills). If you want a good atmosphere, good company and great food then visit this pub. I promise you will not be disappointed! We would like to thank Mandy and Stuart for being great hosts and making this birthday a memorable one. We are definitely going back, rebooking for later this year and for a repeat birthday celebration next year!"

"Coffee and cream has recently been taken over by members of staff, it has become better than it ever was. We have an old codgers breakfast club, and it has become one of the better venues in Taunton for breakfast, with excellent fried bread. The...cakes and sweet items look excellent, and relatives have used it quite regularly for morning coffee and cakes."

"Firstly all the staff are wonderful,very friendly and helpful.We had an issue with our room and they were most apologetic and instantly another room was prepared. The restaurant food was good and beware...the big breakfast is massive. The building itself is very old and full of charm yet although this adds to the delightful ambience especially the front bar I can see money needs to be spent on the general feel of the place.The carpets are filthy...and decor generally run down.That said we would probably return because there are more pros than cons."

"Visits the green dragon in this week for our valentine meal. was beautiful and clean in the inner and the personal where inviting. once we were sitting on ordering drinks, dear that they have a gin menu on the table to save to ask each time....Starter looked amazing, but the calamari was a tad over boiled but nabenbüs garlauch mushroom where perfect. we both had steak for net, but they gave us the plates that were wrong when I was steak he had mine, and we had no steak knives and nobody table checked us to ask for some, never the less it was nice. would have been back."

"We’ve been visiting here for several years. The coffee shop is run by volunteers, all of whom are really nice and enjoy what they do. It’s such a relaxed friendly place to have a coffee and slice of homemade cake, and at very reasonable prices"

"So good to be able to move from the world of ailments and struggle to a quiet sanctuary with, surprisingly, a pretty scent flat white! I know it’s part of the commercial sprawl, but having Costa in the local hospital is a much appreciated move."
