"We ate here several times during our stay at the hotel. Very convenient to just go to the restaurant in the hotel instead of by car to Chamonix or Le Praz. Friendly waiters. A little short options on the menu especially for...vegetarian (a dish) and children (no more specific), but they offered to do simple pasta with butter for the girls or half the day menu. Daily three courses for 29 euros, which were all right the nights we had. The restaurant offers some meat dishes and some fish dishes and some local savoie dishes. Good selection of appetizers and desserts. The beef file was very good after one of my daughter. The vegetarian option was not good. The cheese fondue was really good. The raclette was okay, but cheese, potatoes and salad doesn't make dinner after me. Limited selection of wine through glasses. Delicious dessert."

"This buvette/refuge is a 45 minute walk above Le Lavancher and overlooks the Mer de Glace. The food is traditional french mountain food and there is cold draft beer which can be rare on the mountain. It is less frequented than Buvette Floria on the other side of the valley. The service is very good. I'm told there is a 6 bed dormitory if you want to stay the night. The view is spectacular looking down the valley all the way to Les Houches. It is a relatively easy walk up but steep in a few places. The path is in good condition and well sign posted. It is only open in Summer and best to book."

"We recently had a great Dinner (nice table in the upstairs room) for a very reasonable price. They serve excellent and very tender meat (which is their speciality). Perfectly cooked. The wine list includes a number of very reasonably priced local wines, the cheese is local"

"I don't know why this place is really happy. I think they have a vegan version of a teller maybe adjusted 10 years ago as happy cock started, but it does not seem to have been developed. the burgers can be made vegetarian, but not vegan. the falafel salate can be served without the sauces (except by olive oil alone) and without the brot, but still for the same price of almost 17€. I ate sweet potato fryers and cocktails for dinner."

"We went on a day in august to this restaurant/cafe, where the weather should be cloudy with a rain likelihood. by les praz de chamonix we started at 11.30 clock with two children (ages 5 and 7). because of the weather forecast we had raincoats and jumpers with us plus water to drink and sunscreen and snacks. Now, it turned out to be a glowing, hot sunny day and so our steeper rise was almost unbearable hot. it was much steeper than we had imagined. the way was covered with stones and rocks, so it was easy to find stumble. there was only a flat part of the way and that didn't take very long. I think it has brought us over 45 minutes to get to the caffe, as we had to stop with the young who had very tired legs. if it had been cooler, it would have been better manageable for them. there were bites that were shaded, but a lot of walk seemed to be in the bright sun. a family on the way down, as we climb, had clearly a picnic and decided to “discover, out of the mind!” all their mums on the mountain side, were severely persecuted by an older French couple who had risen and testified. the family was apologetic, but seemed annoying that they were seen as the fact that they insulted the landscape with their mum. we came to the caffe before 12.30 p.m., but it was already busy so that we had luck getting a table for four. some people stood up, waited for a table for age groups, but there was nowhere else to eat. we had no shadow on our table, but there were other tables with sunshades. the lookout about the mountain was amazing. there are a few tables in the interior, but it is usually sitting in the open. there are no menus on the tables there is a laminated sheet on a board as they come and this is repeated at the door to the building. there are also various chalkboards that point out around the “specialities”. it took a lot of time until the waitress came and took our order, probably because they were so busy. we had to get them to the end. we chose 2 x sweet crepes, an omelette and cheese and ham pasta. the waitress spoke English fortunately. the food took a while to come, but we have enjoyed the view in the meantime. the food was nice and we ate everything. toilets were right from the building as they only see a toilet on a treppenflug. they must not put anything in the toilet, even toilet paper. there is no sink, but there is an outdoor spring at the bottom of the stairs where they can wash their hands. it took a while until the bill came as soon as we had asked, and then we were not sure how to pay. at the end I queued at the lower end of the stairs into the kitchen and handed it to someone who worked there. but it was a bit difficult to find out what to do."

"We reserved a table for 6 (which during the week is probably not necessary). We received a warm welcoming and enjoyed the local beer served ice cold in special glasses! The choice of food is simple, my croute au fromage was excellent, and the service continued to be friendly and efficient. They do not have running water up there so facilities are rustic! Last but not least, on a sunny day, the view is just spectacular."
