"Location: Saint-Sauveur village - street parking only. There's a public parking lot not too far away.The place: Small, with a few booths and bar-type seating. When entering the building, you find yourself at the cash register. I should mention that these guys won an award for the 'best poutine in Quebec' in 2014. This is why I decided to stop in with my poutine committee (a.k.a. my brother).The food: I wanted to love this. I mean, they won an award and Trip Advisor ratings were high. But I didn't love the poutine and neither did my brother (or my mum). The fries were great - fresh, crisp on the outside and not at all greasy. I'm pretty sure the server cooks these upon ordering rather than making a batch and letting it sit there for an hour or five. Kudos for that. The sauce, however, is another story. Lacking in flavour yet overpowered by something. Curry? Possibly. Herbage? Possibly. Paprika? This was our best guess - we're not sure what the magic ingredients are but in my opinion, this isn't a prize-winning poutine - sorry. There was hardly any cheese either - perhaps more cheese would have made a difference but.... I don't think so. I added salt to the poutine to give it more flavour which is something I never do. Service: Very friendly. No complaints here.Price point: Rip-off. A small poutine will run you a whopping $6.75. If you want a real poutine, you're better off going to La Belle Province - they're poutines are awesome. Great fries, great sauce and enough cheese. I've still got the aftertaste of the curry-herb-paprika sauce in my mouth so sadly, I won't be going back to this place.Check it out and judge for yourself."

"This was a favorite restaurant but it is sadly slipping. They did not have our first or second choice of wine. The penne appetizer was much, much too spicy. They didn’t have the trout so we had salmon instead. About 2/3 of it was uncooked....When the cheque was presented and we gave a credit card the waitress came back with the info that the interac system was broken and that earlier customers had to go to ATMs to get cash for payment. If she knew this why did she take our cards? What is the explanation for a restaurant that runs its inventory down and only takes cash? I don’t know but it’s probably not kosher."

"A recent discovery is La Petite Boîte à Lunch, in the heart of St. Sauveur—one of the busiest destinations in the Laurentian region north of Montreal. We first came upon this quaint eatery by accident, not knowing what to expect. But we were pleasantly surprised by the food, for example, its excellent soups and one-of-a-kind beefy burgers served up on a ciabatta bun. Yummy. Craft soft drinks and delicious cupcakes (moderately sized, mind you) are also big here. And we definitely liked the restaurant’s retro look and feel. All in all, a great place to go for a light and healthy meal (it's all about quality and not quantity)."

"First visit - chose the smoked salmon sandwich with salad. It came in toasted bread filled with a hefty serving of smoked salmon with sliced red onion tomato, goat cheese, and Swiss cheese. The salad mesclin with tomato cut very small...it was all very good, the cafe filtre as well. Service very professional and friendly. Looking forward to spending a summer afternoon with friends in the terrace. They also have a choice of cakes even a gluten free one."

"Great service! great value! smoked meat was perfect and the lamb table d’hôte was fantastic! our waitress was very good in her craft, it turned out that she was the manager! my only bark is that the koleslaw proportion is too small. I look at a return visit."
