"It is incredible that gastronomic surprises can be stumbled in the outermost regions of Konstanz. By bus you can reach the city centre for about half an hour to 40 minutes and more rural, rural, secluded. Since we know Thingslsdorf only from the lake, as a stop of Lake Constance Road to Überlingen, we want to explore the country side on 19.10., but finally quite late in the year. The Dingelsdorf was only congregated after constancy in the 1970s and has received its loosely cultivated city core. The two known locals are already in winter sleep or do not have on weekdays or both... To be more surprised, we are to discover Evelyn ́s Cafe (No, no, the wrong apostrophe is not from me, but probably from the patronage itself – see the hidden alibi ticket. A friendly young man leads us around the house, shows all the seating possibilities, also brings a card, but otherwise seems somewhat unhappy. Fits everything to the style of improvisation. In the late afternoon we choose coffee (2.50 for the cup, freshly baked fruit cake (2.80 per piece) and wonderfully flowering sparkling wine from the region (3.20 for the glass). The lovingly designed card has small snacks, salads and quiches, complemented by seasonal features that are praised on a table. Much to my taste: pumpkin, mushrooms, wild herbs salad, nuts. All at pleasantly moderate prices and most with regional reference. Without chichi and top tam. The building still shows its rustic-rustic character on the inside – very nice a space to look at its past as a kitchen and to be offered in the small culinary gift (e.g. jam). The room is friendly, brightly decorated, unobtrusively woody. The fresh and very attractive cake offer can be admired at the counter. The clientele seems to originate from the place or the area without exception. Here you will meet after work or among friends to drink a champagne. Apparently there are musical acts and culinary themed evenings. The young man in service radiates through disarming kindness, but does not radiate professionalism. It doesn't work completely unhelpful, does not know the offer, can no bill from the cashier and scratches my request with effort a notebook. When adding, he asks for my help. I can't find the name Evelyn anywhere. Well, maybe the place is still in construction (or again in dismantling?). We look forward to coming back next year and reviewing this...."
