"I was disappointed upon entering yet another cement floor industrial space hipster wanna be restaurant. I miss a cozier restaurant environment, where you can have a quiet conversation, and digest your meal in peace. The chicken liver mousse with carmelized onion was delicious but two slices of bread was not enough for an entire container of mousse. It would have been nice to have some flat bread to spread the mousse. The toast was fine but I don't think it complimented the mouse. The baby octopus was delicious, however the accompanying veggies had an odd vinegar flavor. The seared scallops were perfect but would have like to see more than two on the plate. The noise level was not conducive to meaningful conversation."

"I’ve been to Lillies numerous times, before and after the recent renovation.. Usually a place that everything is great. Service, ambience, prices… one of my favorite places in all of LA.. Yesterday’s brunch was pretty bad.. food still amazing, but the service was terrible. The excuse of “being short staffed” works to a degree but when no one’s hustling, your drinks are forgotten by three people, (which they did remove from the check) but if you’re a manager and you’re removing the drinks, why aren’t you helping your team and stepping up. As a hospitality worker for over two decades, being short staffed is an opportunity to capitalize on making more tips. There was no teamwork, no sense of responsibility or urgency, and a brunch with one cocktail, never asked if we wanted more, is lame.. leaving money on the table.. My friend and I paid cash so we could leave faster.. 2 hours for 2 courses and one drink that made it to the table 47 minutes into our meal, come on guys!"
