"This restaurant has a menu that took me back 40 years to when every Ontario small town eatery had food like this. Club house sandwiches, liver and onions, hot beef sandwiches and other things that we rarely see in city bistros now. No pulled pork or quiche here.The décor is old but clean, and air conditioning consists of large fans, so we sweated on a hot day in August. The place is on a straight stretch of highway where it is easy to pull in and out and it was busy for lunch with farmer and trucker types. The waitresses were friendly and service was good.I had a clubhouse sandwich and Hank’s version was a generous size with the traditional ham/bacon/tomato/lettuce/cheese, and they gave me a generous container of mayo on request. (I always found a clubhouse to be a safe order in a restaurant of unknown quality). My wife had peameal bacon and eggs. The home fries were deep fried but she liked them anyway. A great greasy breakfast.Our lunch bill for 2 with a can of pop was $21 including tax.I saw the hot beef and liver plates coming out of the kitchen in big portions - they seem to be popular dishes here and we will definitely try those next time we want a very filling meal on the way to Port Dover.The other part of the Hank experience is the adjacent full service meat market with good prices - we had a cooler and picked up a few nice cuts to take home."
