"Visited this delightful restaurant on a trip to Hamburg, Germany. My hosts had savoured the dinner menu a few weeks before and had left very impressed and satisfied. When I was invited to try the Business Lunch menu, I was really excited as the restaurant...had received rave review from my hosts. The restaurant is set in a quiet residential street conveniently located a short walk from the Alster Lake, inviting you to have a post-dinner leisure walk (which is exactly what we did). On arrival at the restaurant, we were shown to our table by a very young and well-groomed Maitre d'. The interior was clean, stylish and comfortable. It was also empty, save a young couple who were finishing off their meal when we arrived (please note that this was in the afternoon). On request, I was presented with the English menu as I do understand or speak German. For the Business Lunch, you could either have courses at or courses for (choice of six starters, four mains and one dessert). We all ordered different starters so we could sample each others and I opted for the Tartar of wild prawns and avocado. My hosts ordered the Milanese saffron risotto and Sicilian garganelli. All dishes tasted divine, but I preferred mine the most. It was exceptionally fresh tasting and had a slight tang to it. The avocado totally complimented and balanced off the dish. For our main, we all ordered the Milanese Ossobuco with parsley and mashed potatoes, which was again a winner. As the kitchen could only serve two portions of the main, a very enviable alternative was served to one of my hosts. The meat was extremely well seasoned and cooked to perfection... couldn't fault it. For dessert, we decided to order one portion of the only dessert on the Business Lunch menu and two others from the A La Carte. Once again, Anna Sgroi delivered in all areas with the right combination of flavour, taste and texture. Looking forward to another dining experience at this hidden gem."

"I have been a regular customer for the last years of this winebar somehow pleased by the cosy atmosphere of this place and the fact that is located close to where I leave. Friday of July around pm me and my gf...have decided spontaneously to have a dinner again without booking a table. When we approached the queue a very kind girl at the entrance gently invited us to seat on a table in front of the entrance. Due to the fact that outside was very windy and cold and the front door was open to allow the people to enter we kindly denied to seat on that table (for the above reasons) asking to sit at the bar to have or drinks (as allowed to the couple in front of us in the queue) while waiting to have another table later on in the evening. Suddenly the girl clearly annoyed by our request has decided to show all the empathy skills acquired in this industry over the years and claimed that if we did not want to sit on that table we should have left the restaurant as they do not like to move people around tables...!! Coming from this business many years and having worked as a waiter during my studies in a multitude of restaurants in different countries it is shocking how you can people can even call this behaviour service My only request was to have drinks at my expense while waiting for a table to be free later on in the same evening. I used to come to this place once a month with an average expense of euro per person when in and more when with other friends. This is the treatment you can get at the Vineyard in Hamburg even if you are a regular customer and horrifying it is actually a compliment. This is my first bad review I have ever left on TripAdvisor but it is crucial that everybody have a clear picture of the venue you are visiting before deciding to spend the evening and your money. From my side they will never see me again!"

"Really nice very friendly place that I ate in on occasions in a short visit. The flammenkuche was good but the home made pesto was as good as any pesto I have had, even in Italy! A long lunch with friends was oiled by...inexpensive excellent house"wine. There is a large range of bottles on show and I suspect that there is great love of and knowledge about wine within the place. Perhaps as a reward for virtually living in the place for days running work with me here) when I asked for chesse for dessert at lunch on my last day there I was given a whole plate full of superb French cheeses that arrived at the correct temperature. For Euros Less than the cost of a full normal portion which as stated in the menu was significantly less food than what was placed in front of me. Prices are very reasonable indeed Vielen dank!"

"Zala wandsbeker chaussee - actually the top address for the Indian cuisine. However, today so much has been missing to write - I really felt so beautiful...Samosas was for whatever reason - not what I found very bad. the rothi’s unfortunately came cold to the table, which I also complained. three and a half minutes later they were not really warmer, but our others were cold when I sent them back to the kitchen. I missed the kick I felt otherwise here. beef madras and chicken tikka were really ok, but you can't talk about excellent. but even chefs sometimes have their drolly 5 minutes, which I might have caught tonight. However, the calculations also proved to be a great challenge, as one had booked a meal on another table. to add the two sums, we asked to use the calculator of the handy, which we have in the head for the waiter - solved for the. "tripel a" can't be forgiven today, but a valuable b. I come in every case to the next weeks again and would be madly happy to enjoy the high standard, how!"
