"We just had lunch at this restaurant after having read all good reviews. What a good start of our holiday! The food was delicious; we had a set menu of euro: risotto as a starter, duck as main, and an apricot dessert. The staff...was very friendly, making some jokes with the kids. There is no kids menu but they were more than happy to prepare the a la carte meals in smaller portions (don't expect fries). The restaurant was fully booked and it took a while for having all dishes served. However, the food is amazing so we can definitely recommend this restaurant (and we are not the only ones ; the restaurant is awarded with a Gault Millau"

"We were there at lunch during christmas holidays. we ordered 2 main courses, 2 glasses of wine, a bottle of water and, after that, 2 desserts and one cognac. the final bill was 62€. we ate deer with celery mousse and rabbit with topinambur: both the meats were very good, well cocked and served. as desserts we both had a cup of 'chocolate and pear ', a kind of layered dessert covered with pear mousse; it was very good too, but the portion is big, I suggest to share one if you are not so hungry. the place is nice, minimal style on the shade of white. the waitresses are polite and helpful in the choice of the food. the price is a little high, but you are in the center of the city, in a very nice street, and, also, the food is very good, so in the end it is ok."

"When we go to Metz, we stop eating in this restaurant bar. The map is not very large but the products are of quality. The cut beef tartar with the knife is succulent, the dishes of the day are a feast. The dry white in aperitif is excellent! I strongly recommend this address. Price of the dish of the day: 9,5€ Price of other dishes: about 13-15€ Café gourmand: 6€ Good value for money"

"Coco Grill that the name dessert a little is above all AND ON ALL a family restaurant: simple and warm welcome (Csilla is adorable and has a character as we like, the cuisine, varied, is not complicated and therefore accessible to all, and above all always excellent (we have been in the restaurant for years. The setting is relaxing like a family home: in winter, the cosy room makes you want to relax (more when the fir is installed! ; in the beautiful days, a pleasant shaded terrace in the back of the street gives the impression of being on vacation! To sum up, if you want to go back to the essentials of restoration and forget the noisy, crawling places of the world and out of price as there are (too much in Metz, it is in this deadlock Rue du Moyen Pont that you have to run away!"

"By far my favourite in Metz.I had the chance to taste a lot of restaurants in Metz. The current number one on this site (Maire) is indeed excellent for those who enjoy a modern cuisine. For the conservative tasters I’d suggest the, currently not listed, “La Goulue”. But “A coté” is really something different, which you do not immediately expect in a medium sized town as Metz. The name “à coté” comes from the Michelin starred “L’ecluse” just next door, held by the same chef.- First the setting: terrace in the summer or inside at other times. Sitting on high bar stools in a modern décor with a direct view on the open kitchen and the dedication of the chef and his personnel.- Than the food, that I’d describe as French tapas. Larger than in Spain and based on real french cuisine. Order 2 or 3 portions, especially those that you’d otherwise never take, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. The risotto, the “boudin”, oysters, everything’s excellent + a choice of some decent wines.- The service is correct, without being outstanding.One tip: make a reservation a few days in advance. There’re 2 services: 2000 hrs and 2130. Personally I prefer the last service, as the chef is a little more accessible if you want some advice and you’ll be able to take the time you need to enjoy your dinner.- Finally, the bill is not overpriced for the quality you get."

"Truly this is the only restaurant I have visited that specialises in potato dishes, USP tubers! The menu is varied and offers many delicious delights. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is freshly prepared and served quickly. We had the beef with...mushrooms , melt in the mouth meat with delicious sauce. Save room for the home made deserts. The Black Forest gateaux is a dream. The best restaurants in Metz are closed on Sunday so it was our good fortune to find this place and enjoyed great food and service at very reasonable prices."
