"Dominos has existed for almost 60 years, so they have to do something right. I was first introduced to Dominos when I lived in Prince George. The PG location (on Ospika) was quite close to where I was, and they offered many...big deals that, as struggling student at the time with very limited financial resources, were the most attractive. Even then, although, I didn't think that the pizza was something special – it was perhaps a notch about Food Court pizza or something like a Fresh Slice. The wings were all right and their signature cheese bread was very pleasant. But the one I didn't like most of all? The pizzas were always oversaturated – so much that the pizza sauce often exaggerated the cake, regardless of what it was. That's why I stopped ordering Dominos as a whole and I finally found better options. So there's the background. Basically, I had not ordered Domino's pizza for the better part of about 10 years. But lately it seemed, regardless of where I went I saw Dominos everywhere it was in the larger Victoria area or terrace: ads, vans, coupons, TV - you call it! I thought, “Oh, maybe this is a sign!” And it was a long time since I ordered from Domino. Maybe they would have changed better? Maybe the menu was updated? The latter was certainly true. Since my last order they have added a few specialties pizzas, boneless wings and various specialties chicken dishes to name some. You have also added a “piece of cake” rewards program. But how was the pizza? I entered the terrace location and ordered some spicy buffalo wings, cheese bread and a "Canadian" pizza. Although it was quite early a day that Domino already made booming shops with a fair number of call orders and supplies, even in the few minutes, it brought me to place my order so that they obviously very popular in terrace. Anyway, my food was fast (20 minutes) and I was out to taste my kitchen. The wings were unfortunately exactly the same as I remembered them: much sweeter than spicy; the happy bread was good and for me the clear highlight; and the pizza? Well, the good news is that it was not oversaturated, but it was really lack of taste for some reason and tasted quite salty for me. In short, I was not very impressed and suddenly reminds me why I don't order Domino. There are much better pizza options out there. FOOD: 2.5/5 SERVICE: 4/5 VALUE: 3/5 RECOMMENDATION: Well, to be blunt, there are far better pizza options in terrace; for example pizza hat and checker. Regarding wings, I would say every pizza place in terrace plus safeway has better wings to offer. Again, I'm not sure how or why this place is so popular? I mean, I even heard that people are driving all the way from Prince Rupert to Domino – why?! Perhaps it is the “part of cake” rewards program?"

"To be honest the food I ate there wasn't very memorable, I went for lunch, I heard dinner is better so I will try again. Their drinks are great though "

"Terrible customer service, closes at 5 now and the drive through is closed. This is by far the worst kFC I have been to. They should have closed down KFC and kept Taco Bell."

"In instances like this I wish TripAdvisor would allow for the use of half star ratings because Lucky Garden is at least worth 3.5 stars, not just three. I say that because other Chinese places in town, namely Polly's and Shan Yan, are average. Their food, as I've written elsewhere is OK not bad but OK. In other words, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at any of those places. Now, I'm not saying Lucky Garden is by any means excellent (because it isn't), but it is slightly better than Polly's and Shan Yan. For instance, both Polly's and Shan Yan have incredibly boring and ultimately tasteless chow mein, whereas Lucky Garden's at least has a bit of flavour and the portions aren't as overcompensatingly large and therefore are a lot more manageable. Similarly, whereas Polly's and Shan Yan both had relatively lame prawn dishes (some made with very cheap vegetables), the Prawns and Black Bean sauce at Lucky Garden was surprisingly good: the black bean sauce was ample, but not overflowing the dish; they weren't cheap with the prawns and the prawns were cooked beautifully; and the vegetables moved beyond mere green peppers and celery pieces. It was nice to finally have a decent Chinese meal in Terrace. To be clear, though, Lucky Garden is very much Westernized Chinese, but that's to be expected in a small northern city. Like all of the other Chinese eateries in town Polly's, Shan Yan, Golden Star the interior is very dated and could use a bit of a makeover. The walls and chairs are this strange, unappealing blue green colour. Very 1980s. But at least the restaurant is clean and the server friendly. What I like most about this eatery, besides the decent food, is the location: Lucky Garden is right in the heart of downtown Terrace and so is within easy walking distance from most hotels (unlike Polly's, which is kind of out of the way, or Shan Yan, which is in a seedy part of Terrace). FOOD: 3/5 SERVICE: 4/5 VALUE: 3.75/5 RECOMMENDATION: If you're looking for authentic, non Westernized Chinese in Terrace you'll come up empty handed because no such place exists; however, if you're looking for good Westernized food at a decent price, Lucky Garden is probably your best bet. The menu is extensive but doesn't over extend itself (unlike the competitors), and it has some nice options not found at the other Chinese restaurants. The food isn't excellent by any means, but if I find myself in Terrace and have a hankering for Chinese food, I know where I'm going!"

"The tables were dirty, eating took forever, there were only a few other people in the restaurant. worst overpriced eating ever. I have never left a negative review for a restaurant like this, but it is totally deserved. will never go back."

"I'm not a raving fan of many of the Chinese restaurants in Terrace, as I have a taste for authentic Chinese (Dim Sum! and those, you can really only find in larger centers. But since we have what we have, Polly's is as good as...they come. You don't leave hungry. The only problem I saw is that they have a very large take-out clientele, and the staff doesn't seem to be able to efficiently handle both the people coming in to pick up orders AND the people already seated in the restaurant. The staff was friendly, and to be fair there was 1 girl trying to handle 2 moderate tables and a very large 10+ group. A table beside us never got one of their orders, yet they were charged for it, but our order was fine. I have been there more than once and I would go back again."

"At my search for the best Chinese food in the terrace, I began to get a little discouraged. first I visited pollys, which, as I have already written, was altogether in order – eating was typical western Chinese and the decoration reminded me very much. to this Chinese restaurant, which I visited as a child, to the mostly brown interior and the pattern of flooring. after pollys I visited golden star. while the presentation of the food was very nice (probably the most beautiful in all in relation to the Chinese restaurants of the terrace), eating was anxious: excessively salty; fat; and sometimes completely tasteless. I will give golden star points on decoration, but: very kitsch. and then there were nr. 1 restaurant – the beautiful distraction and extension of prince rupert. like his sister location, the Chinese cuisine was not remarkable, flirt with blandness and lacked inspiration. so far the Chinese offers in the terrace did not look so great. then I came to shan jan. although I was a little hesitant to eat here in view of the (mostly) negative reviews I have seen, paired with the fact that shan jan is in a kind of fun part of the terrace; but I decided to press. the first thing I noticed . . . I could not help but wonder if a) shan jan and pollys were in possession of the same people; or, b) they have the same building designer. I say that because both shan jan and polly use the same type of characters (see photos.) coincidence? Maybe. but then when they enter shan jan, the similarities become even more pronounced. the layouts are eerily identical. when they go in shan jan, they notice that the stand or informal sits immediately to the left, while the formal escaping runs right – just like pollys. also the internal device is randomly very identical. the menus are also much the same in comparison. the only difference I noticed was that shan jan had some more grilled dishes that were not available in pollys, i.e. a grilled hot pot and garnel tipan. with others, if you blinded me and brought me in pollys or shan jan, I wouldn't be able to say that difference. I could be in one or the other and it would really not be important because layout was the same and the menus in the grunde were the same. at the order of my food I have currently thought of ordering exactly what I had at polly, and, for the greatest part, I have; but instead of the garlic puwns (as I did at polly’s), I decided for the prawn hot pot here. the eierrolle was very similar here to pollys – right below to look and taste. the cured chicken wings were very similar, but I give shan jan here the edge because their wings do not look so pale/sick. Nevertheless, they still seemed to use the same cheap curry sauce as it can be found at polly. the chicken-chow mine was the same: simple (very simple) noodles with comminuted chicken lying on top. the prawn hot pot had a very nice taste. I just wish there were a few more garnishes in the dish, as it was more sweet than garnish. So, which place was better? pollys or shan jan? shan jan or pollys? it is a very close call because these two esseries were in the round one and the same; but, although shan jan had the better looking wings and a decent hot pot, I have to give polly the light edge here, but only by a question of grad. Polly’s appears to be better preserved: the cabin area is cleaner and its cabins – at least those I saw – were not held together. that and I felt that the service was more friendly. at shan jans I got my food and then went in the round alone. at the end, however, these two edible products are interchangeable. food: 2.5/5 service: 2.5/5 value: 2.5/5 recommended: shan jan, like Polly’s, offers its typical western Chinese cuisine. I think pollys is a little better because the server is more friendly and caressing; but it's something out of the way, while shan jan is central. is it the best in the city? does not definitiw – this distinction, as I wrote elsewhere, goes to the lucky garden."
