"My family stopped in for lunch and we all had the buffett. They had many tables big enough to accommodate large parties. The buffett had the usual Chinese food and was very fresh. The salad bar was good. I did find the desserts a little laking, but I was too full to partake anyways. The server could have been a little more attentive, but all in all, a good meal at a decent price."

"I visited Long John's for lunch with my family, while in Silver Star for a ski holiday. I would vote this as one of the 'nicer' (but still low-key) pubs at Silver Star. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. My husband had a 'deconstructed' lasagne, which was unusual but tasty, and I had a really delicious (and huge!) bowl of tomato soup. It was a pretty simple fare, but executed well. If we'd discovered this pub earlier into our holiday, I'm sure we would have dined here more than once. Also... both the waiters who served us had the name tag 'John', unsure if they own the place or if this is a laugh?!"

"Our daughter had been evacuated twice due to forest fires. We had the buffet and really enjoyed it. The food was hot the selection was excellent and the staff very good. We do like the fact that the food is fresh and hot. Will definitely be back again and again. And, they gave us a 20% discount because our daughter was still evacuated and we had been evacuated for a short time in Monte Lake. They were very understanding."

"This is the place when you are looking for old style pub food and drink in an authentic atmosphere. It also seemed to be a magnet for bikers who added a touch of intrigue. Beverage menu is long on BC beer that was welcome and the food was excellent."

"So after a little hiatus of martensia because of her innocence we meet on the other day for a few pints and dinner for a friend's birthday! Service was good, food was okay, but the beer was far better than previous visits! I am glad to see the extension of the beer menu and definitely try different beers during the visit! In the end, we left full and slightly drunk, which was great! Also some beers for the after party that was fantastic! If you are looking for a good time, give them an attempt!"

"Have gone here regularly since it opened. Had a bad meal a couple of weeks ago but thought we'd try again. Not busy but service slow and server forgetful things on several occasions. Ordered wings to start and they were cold. Asked for a few things to be altered as we always do and each time, it was a flat "no". In past, servers have always been accommodating and friendly which is why we've always gone back. this time, not so. Felt as thought we were imposing. Fries soggy as was the overdone pasta and watery sauce. Was not offered any Parmesan and again, had to ask. Come on!....informed server of the lousy meals that we hardly touched and server thought it was all good. Hmmm. We always go here too for staff luncheons. Won't be back."
