"This is a great Irish pub we have visited on a couple of visit's to Vienna and was alway's a pub we were going to visit on this holiday to this most vibrant of citie's. The pub is superb,nice decor,great beer ephamera plastered all over...the pub,nice furnishing's and decorated tastefully throughout. We were here on a Tuesday night and the pub was about half full,we walked in and ordered a guinness each and this was served in perfect condition. We just kicked back and chilled out and soaked up the wonderful atmosphere of this pub. They show the English premier league football in here and we watched Liverpool lose to Newcastle,a bad result but a great atmosphere in this pub. There are lot's of Irish pub's in Vienna and THE BACKBONE IRISH PUB is up there as one of the best in my opinion,it's not as touristic as some other Irish pub's and attract's a good mix of ex pat's and local's and has more the feel of a good local's pub. We only stayed for the one beer each before we moved on but had a great time in here. Very easy to locate,jump the Ubahn down to stop BURGGASSE and walk down the street of the same name were you will find this pub. Opening hour's are; Sunday to till Friday till Superb pub,great guinness and well worth a visit."

"Once free, once sleep out, and then in the meierei breakfast - unfortunately not possible: arrival close to 11,30h, very spearyly occupied terrace. surprisingly the card, although it is called cafe locally, informs about breakfast until 11.30h. we thought it won't come to minutes. wait for the waitress... after more than 10 minutes this comes back. we're asking if there's still an breakfast. negative response of the waitress, “the stone me when I drill after 11,30h of breakfast”. ask for an breakfast on our side. the waitress is asking. after a further minute, she comes back. “No, they have to prepare so much in the kitchen.” we say very disappointed that such a thing can happen in a warm cafe and will not come again."

"If you are looking for a special night out, go elsewhere! For a casual average meal with average service this was ok. Menu was all handwritten german which even my german friends couldn't read: menu limited and we had to wait ages before our food...came (to be fair they did apologise as a huge group had come in before us... but we had booked some weeks before so really this should have been planned for). Just not my cup of tea all in all... cosy and good for chatting with friends on a casual night out...food didn't wow at all. But was freshly cooked. Would suggest a nice place to take the kids for some Austrian food."

"I am in Vienna maybe 2 3 times a year and always liked the food in Kent. But this time I was very disappointed. The chicken plate with tomatoes paprika mushroom etc. was terrible. Meat was dry and too much fried. Tomatoes and mushrooms almost...not detectable. Paprika, well I could not find them. Now I donot use a lot of salt for my food, but this must have been made without salt. Complains to the waiter (2) were just answered , well we are busy, I am sorry The metal plate it was surved on, was also in bad shape (scratched, part of the coating missing) and it would not be bad to have some new ones. If my 2 beers, 1 must have been from an old barrel, for it was cloudy 2nd was clear and ok"

"A friend recommended us this restaurant and we were not disappointed. first, they have a large selection of good beers, some of them from the Czech Republic and secondly they have a large selection of local meals for very good prices. we ordered the...Fascated laibs and we liked it very much, also the part was great."

"The biggest surprise was the search for cheap, tasty and healthy food in this trendy neighborhood. It is a simple place with a cook and a server. It has a small but beautiful selection of packs with mostly vegetarian choices such as Felafel, Auberginen, haloumi sheep cheese and also chicken. You also have a few types of baklava. I definitely recommend."
