"Best shawarma poutine in hamilton, always go to these guys best in city but the service was terrible. Called at 11:30 and they close at 12, first they didnt wanna take my order, then they didnt let me dine in since they have to catch the bus. Owner should know employees are leaving early when they close at 12? Please change hours if this is the case"

"I come here pretty often and order the same thing every time; The Gyro with a side of small fries. And I always bring my own water with me.Sadly I don't have a photo, but I've been known to over describe things. So here.You walk in and the smell is amazing. Done! Haha kidding. But seriously, the smell of tasty chicken kebabs and lamb and beef gyro, (I'm assuming) sizzling on this big flat frying sheet and the deep fryer constantly frying something up.You notice right away a family team running the restaurant. They work so well together.I remember a very busy day once, took maybe 10 mins or so but who knows because I was so intrigued by the silence in the whole place. Their prder list is full and everyone knows exactly what to do and when, aside from interacting with the guests.I grew up in the kitchen with my parent's restaurants and I always appreciate great teamwork in a restaurant.The Gyro:They throw a thin flat bread on the big flat frying thing and weigh it down. In the mean time some gyro meat finds its way on their as well, sizzle and sizzle more with every turn Tseeeee. Then they butter everything up. My absolute faborite part. They use a basting brush and apply a handsome amount to both the bread and gyro meat. Tseeeeeee!Omce ready, they ask if you'd like everything or no. I say yes. Onions, garlicky tzatziki sauce and all. (Extra Extra, read all about it!)Once they put the gyro meat on, they baste more butter on it!! :) This is amazing! Someone once told me that butter is the secret to life. Touché.Once the fries are done they hand it all to you with tissue and all in the bag. Very decent price. Considering my size and metabolism I'm rather happy with my purchase.Also, eat the fries as soon as you can. They're so crispy and tender. With a bite of mouth watering gyro."

"My Sister and I were looking for an interesting place to have lunch in the Hamilton ON area. She mentioned a pho place that she had driven by a number of times. We are veggies. So we decided to try Made Pho You. The restaurant is unassuming. So too the location. But the food is awesome. Servings are large and utterly delicious. We split a pho soup with veggies and tofu, an avocado lettuce roll, a mango lettuce roll and a serving of luscious silky bright purple eggplant with fried tofu and a bowl of rice. Each dish was a taste sensation. Our server was very helpful as we debated what to order and serving sizes. There was enough left over for another meal the next day. The best that I have had in ages. The menu offers an incredibly large selection. Tea was thick and delicious. And service friendly and accommodating as if we were in someone's home."

"We have been coming to Maria 's for well over a decade and sadly this will probably be the last time. We all ordered smoke meat sandwiches and they were served with stale rye bread. STALE! I politely mentioned this to our server and was brought out new bread that was just as stale. I guess they thought by toasting the bread that it would somehow disguise the fact that it was stale. Did they think we would not notice? Do they think that their customers are stupid? A traditional smoke meat sandwich does not have toasted rye bread and the bread should be so fresh that it sticks to the roof of your mouth. We spent over $150 for the new management to just say sorry . The server was lovely so this is not refelection on her service. She tried her best but I could tell that they were not supported. The first sign that a business is in trouble is when the wait staff are afraid to say anything. It is sad to see a once great local business taken over by people that haven 't a clue how to prepare food or treat customers. Judging by some of the more recent reviews, I am not the only one that noticed that the new management is churning out poor quality food with even lower standards. Other servers told me that that the management just simply doesnt care about quality or customer satisfaction so it isnt worth complaining about. It won 't be long before this once great family restaurant goes out of business."
