"Every time I visit Geelong I always drop into Rosey Joans for a great coffe and yummy lunch, cakes are delicious too. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the menu for a light lunch is perfect and I still can't go past my favourite warm roast beef sandwich."

"I recently had take away fish and chips (butterfish and a half serve of chips $7.90) from The Fish Lab in Highton. I haven't had food from there in quite some time, but I remember from my last visit that it was very good, lovely crisp batter, succulent fish and crunchy chips. I'm assuming there's been a change of ownership since my last visit as the person who used to work there was missing, as was the quality of the food. The batter on the (rather dry) fish was flabby rather than crisp and the chips suffered from being left out of the oil for too long while waiting for the fish to cook. They couldn't use 'too busy' as an excuse as, although there were phone orders coming in, I only had to wait 5-10 minutes for my order. This place used to be considered one of Geelong's best fish and chip places when it was Gilligan's and initially the quality was there as well when it moved from the beach to the suburbs. Now it's very disappointing to say the least, with quality being sacrificed for profit I assume and certainly no love any more. Overall, a very disappointing experience which I won't be repeating anytime soon, if ever."
