"This place can be extremely crowded, and they may have to wait for a past to come. but it is worth every minute of it. I have read a lot of reviews that say that eating is average, and I do not agree to some extent. although it is not top notch it is still really good, with amazing trips for what they get. if I had to point out what I did not (real) like, is that the drinks are very watered (I am talking about the sour as I am a big fan), but the variety is amazing. and the variety does not stop with the drinks. While this is essentially a Yakitori restaurant, the menu extends far beyond it and even includes the hot takoyaki (considering not to burn the insides of her mouth, I will return without doubt to this place when I am in kyoto."

"For Australians, its normal. Not cheap. Not expensive. Ive been eating in Japan and i noticed food is cheaper here. 5 skewers each plate but its small whereas the other place across the river 2 skewers but its bigger. So its hard to compare. I judge that this place is slghtly expensive. The bbq guy was working hard, he was sweating. Hopefully not on the food. Its lively, interesting to watch"

"Great choice for a casual dinner in the city, and a taste of kyoto obanzai. tasty little teller of sweet, grilled fish/meat, stew, sushi and roasted food. everything was well balanced and in season, and reasonably priced. begin with the obanzai plate, and make sure to taste the ochsentail soup and salted grilled fish. expect to pay ¥35,000 for dinner and a few round drinks."

"The food was more of a 3; it was good, but nothing to write home. We have 6 Yakitoris; 3 per person (Okra, short rib, chicken leg, chicken breast, scallop and tomatoes wound bacon). Everyone was cooked well, with the exception of scaling, which was a hint over boiled. The other thing we didn't know (and if we knew we would probably have chosen another restaurant), there is a 300 yen "service fee" per person and each person should order at least one drink. I'm not sure if "drink" means alcohol or something other than water. The service fee definitely picked up the bill and increased the tax that pushed it into the “Don’t write at home” category. The atmosphere and one employee were both a solid 4. He worked his cock off (I never got his name) and he was great to make sure our meal was delivered in time by the grill. It took about 20 minutes from our order period to get 5 out of 6 of our Yakitoris, drinks came almost immediately. The other factor we observed during eating was the chance that the cartridges were communicated to the restaurant closed, although the hours say 23:00 for a short time. I think that was because the staff had a hard time explaining in English that the restaurant was full and appreciate how many minutes until the room was available. Finally, other reviewers mentioned the handwritten bill was redundant and low-tech because the orders were also added to an iPad where the payment was taken. While I can agree that redundancy is there, I actually thought the handwritten bill was a nice touch and added the overall experience. Overall, nice atmosphere, clean, very hard work staff, timely delivery, food was decent."

"Best place I went to on my 2+ weeks in Japan. The beer selection here is perfect and they had some super small Japanese craft beers that I didn't see on tap anywhere else on my travels. But the food is next level. I would fly found Australia to spend an afternoon to night here and then head home. It's all I need cause this place is that good. Hopefully I'll be here again soon but not soon enough."

"The food is good but not up to the 3 stars level. Their cooking style is old, lacks innovation and did loose identity. In other words, the sashimi lacked luster and many of the served dishes were nothing but nicely presented fish in gel. We expected tuna, like a small piece : . Desert was not better and the quality of served tea is way below expectations. From another perspective two dishes stood. Like we’re impressive, the first was the rice cake miso soup. This was an exceptional one and the fried fish that they would transfer the skin and bones into soup. Simplest and most powerful dishes representing the old school of Kyoto cooking culture. We expected more of that and got only two...ah, and the mackerel was also good. Would we repeat the visit; no. Would we have avoided the experience, the answer is no as well"

"Come here if you like Oyakodon or chicken and egg in a hot stone dish. This is the best Oyakodon place in Japan to which I was. I recommend you eat from the middle and do not forget a little seaweed, chicken broth and spices above! I was here for lunch and was not disappointed. It's a nice change of speed if you don't want to fried something. And the hot stone dish makes the rice crispy! For the best last bite."
