"Great food! The green tomatoes with the pig bell and tomatoes jam is extremely special! The black redfish are also very good. Portions are large, but they offer half portions for several items. Pulled Pork Sandwich with the Coleslaw is also amazingly excellent family-oriented casual dining"

"I chose this place because he was walking from the hotel where I lived. This place is specialized in hamburgers. You have all kinds of craft burgers. I had the Guacamolburger and it was great. The service was very fast. I had my hamburger in 5 minutes. The staff was friendly. I noticed that there were many parking lots as well as handicap parking and access. If I'm back in the area, I'll stop again."

"Inside is about 12 tables and a full size bar. The bathrooms were clean. Our server was attentive and sweet. This place offers sweetened and unsweetened brewed tea. The Caesar salad dressing had a strong eggy taste. The croutons were deliciously sweet! Lol. The red fish has been a consistently well savored dish. It has now been ordered four times. The filet surprised me! It does cost around forty for the filet and one side, however, a melt in your mouth flavored filled fantastic filet is hard to come by (say that fast three times? in a mirror? with the lights off)."

"We arrived a few mins after they opened, it wasn't busy. I ordered the 8 oz ribeye, and there was about 6 oz of fat and gristle. My Baked potato was cold, didn't even melt the Margarine. Mike ordered the 12 oz Riley and it was close to half fat and geistle."

"We've celebrated our Anniversary every year at the Purple Parrot and by far it's the most romantic and quiet place in the Burg. Love it and they always fulfill my special requests They had a glass of my wife's wine and my Sazerac waiting on me with a little table banner with our names and happy anniversary with a rose and after our meal had a desert for us with Happy Anniversary written in icing around the plate......We'll always go there for Valentines day and/or our Anniversary...Thanks so very much and Highly Highly recommend!! -Chris"

"Ed?s Burger Joint is a fun casual spot for a great burger and fries. We had the Roadhouse Burger and the Heavy Eddie burger as well as fries and the Dirt Cake Shake. The burgers were tasty and juicy. The milkshake was insanely big and over the top and it was amazing!"

"Hubby and I are in Hattiesburg for work. We kept seeing the “Wards” restaurant and decided .. why not? We don’t have one anywhere near our home. Upon entering we were greeted promptly and the sweet young lady at the counter filled us in on the history of the place and what the restaurant was famous for. She was extremely enthusiastic about the place and we could tell she was proud to be working there and happy with her job. That in itself was quite refreshing! She offered us a sample of the root beer and it was all she said it was… mmmm . Miss Gabby is a shining example of what I would want as an employee.. she totally set the tone for our visit and we are actually stopping in, in the morning for breakfast. Thank you Gabby you put smiles on our faces and we are so glad we decided to stop. The Big One , onion rings, Cajun fries and ROOT BEER FLOAT were fabulous as was the service!"
