"A very pleasant evening spent at the Plough .. there was a good range of food from burgers to quail's breast ... the service was great we had the lovely Julie serving us who was more than happy to take pictures of us enjoying ourselves... it was quite busy inside but didn't feel packed there's seating outside in the well maintained garden and it was pretty full out there to... all in all a good place to spend time celebrating with friends and family ... they do have a menu available to view on-line under The Plough Henfield"

"Very friendly and helpful, squeezed us in for dinner despite being very busy, apologised for the long wait (wasn't too long) lovely food our boy loved playing in the big pirate ship! Second visit for late drinks although the kitchen was shut got some ice cream for our boys to cool down"

"What a shame such a lovely venue and the food did look good. We arrived without a booking on a Saturday and understand its a busy venue but all the staff were rude when we asked if we could just sit down for a quick drink. You can 't sit outside, defiantly not if you 're just having a drink. There were free tables the whole time we were there but got sat inside reluctantly. We ordered a snack bowl of deep fried jalapenos which were nice and had one drink. We then left and the bill came with 12.5% service charge on it. We asked if it could be taken off and were met with WHY? you had food! it got taken off in the end but it felt like becase we weren 't booked and we didn 't sit down for a full meal we weren 't worth bothering with. Such a shame customer service lets a wonderful venue down. Everyone was rude. Service: 1"

"I know you see a lot of reviews claiming they've just had the best roast ever, but this was actually the best roast I've had. Me and the Mrs go all over Sussex trying roasts and this place is in 1st place. The staff were friendly and approachable, the setting is beautiful and the food is delicious and full of flavour. "Four of us had a lovely dinner celebrating a birthday the food was delicious a refreshing prawn cocktail to start and the guys had steaks with an extra request of fried eggs on top which they devoured! The battered plaice was lovely, not greasy, and the same with the scampi and the homemade coleslaw is yummy. The staff and Manager Lynn were so friendly helpful and made the whole evening very enjoyable!"

"A spur of the moment decision to go for dinner after quite a few years which proved an excellent idea. There was nothing to fault about our evening. Friendly, well measured service from what seemed like loads of staff that meant prompt attention with no excessive waiting. Plenty of choice on an imaginative menu with what turned out to be very generous portions. Really delicious Thai curry (better than I remembered it) and very good local venison casserole. The only disappointment of the evening was that neither of us could manage a pudding, we were so full. Very good wine list and a few well selected draught beers. What’s not to love?!"
