"Ok so we weren't going to eat here before the rodeó because it was all sort of last minute and from what I read there was no way on the planet we would be able to get a reservation but the rodeó gods smiled upon us and (likely because we were seriously early) got us out of the heat and Into the ac for what promised to be some good food. (Ya'll have a seriously hot town- this week was like 104). To my delight it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Southern hospitality is a thing. Thank you Texas. We ordered the fried jalapeño and pickles. They were hot and crispy and everything a fried appetizer should be. We ordered the kc steak for two which came with 4 appetizers.. the good news is that they let us order the steak cooked to our preferred temperature for each of us. The fist words I uttered were- damn someone knows how to season a steak. It was tender and flavorful. I'm a steak snob- worked managing a high end steak house for years .. I know a good steak and this was it. Sonny was our server. He was very concerned that we enjoyed our meal- offering suggestions along the way. I always have a lot of questions (it's in my nature- has nothing to do with my yelping). He could answer all if them. I could tell he was a rookie (that's experience on my end) but he was earnest in his approach and attentive and if I was his manager I would have been proud to have him in my employ. Speaking of the manager. She stopped by- not in the I need to put a check mark next to the say hello to every table kindof way but in the I really welcome your feedback kindof way. Bonus points. I didn't need the sides. I was full. So I'm not Commenting on them. Our server found out we were coming to the rodeó and offered us a drink to go. Smart guy. We got to go cups and we're on our way with full belly's and big smiles. Go. Eat. It's not some cheezy cowboy themed steakhouse. It's a steakhouse with damned good steak."

"I would do no stars but I can 't I was an employee they treated me like I wasn 't a real person, I was getting paid minimum wage barley anything to do way much then I should have been, I didn 't get paid for my training week and we were constantly servalenced couldn 't even keep my phone on me in case of emergencies, ask why they can 't keep employees, because they think they are superior and nobody else matters. I was so excited about this job until I released how horrible the people were. You can thank me for last year 's decorations btw."

"Fast friendly service and Alamo Shaved Ice also has a few good snack offerings to satisfy those munchies. My son always has to have those savory flavors to offset his sweet tooth, so in addition to the shave ice, we ordered the corn in a cup and was sooo good! Instead of the usual Parmesan, this corn cup is topped with queso fresco and it definitely adds a creamy zing to the rest of the zesty spices and pairs well with the flavor of the crisp, sweet white corn. Mixed in was chili salt, mayonnaise, and lemon pepper. Delicious! If corn in a cup isn 't your thing, they also have other $4 snacks: Nachos, Frito Pie, Hot Cheetos-n-Cheese or your choice of any other Flamin ' Hot variety. They also have canned sodas for $1, and of course, the shave ice with many flavors to choose from. If you can 't decide, get half and half. You can enjoy your snack and shave ice lounging on their patio under the shade of the oak trees and brightly colored umbrellas, or take across the street to Bullis Park to enjoy if the weather is nice out. The best part? They have an 'After School Special ' from 2pm-4pm offered Monday-Friday. You can get an 8oz. child 's size shave ice for just $2 (excluding rainbow flavor for the little ones, and order a large one for you. ; Tigers blood is always a favorite.
