"This is one of our favourite places for lunch in France. Saint Jean de Cole is a very special place, richly deserving its listing as one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France. We have visited in the sunshine, in the rain, in Spring and Summer. The flower festival in May is an 'unmissable ' but Les Temps des Mets is an idyllic setting and very French. Booking is certainly advisable. As this is a typical restaurant run by a hard-working couple, it 's best to leave a message and they 'll ring back. The service is excellent and the food very French : the menu varies month by month and vegetarians are certainly welcome. We just love sitting outside under the trees where the shade is perfect and there 's always entertainment. This time it was a big family birthday party next to us, but we were just as special. Allow time also to explore the village. One time we went into the church and listened to an English choir practising 'O for the wings of a dove '. Ooohh, it 's a lovely place and this restaurant is right in the middle of it all."
