"The gas house „Zur Sprewaldbahn“ is located in a new cauche (niedersorbsich „Nowa Niwa“ 65 km southeast of berlin 25 km northwest of cottbus) in the spreewald, more precisely in the oberspreewald. the name suggests that the gas house has a relationship to the railway: it is located in the former railway building of the same former railway station, which was located on the Lübben-Cottbus railway line, which was also referred to as “Spreewaldbahn” and was operating from 1898 to 1970. the new railway station was shut off by the German rich railway ddr 1967. today are gleise demonted, but the railway stations still exist, in more or less desolatem. only today's railway station building as a gas house and for residential purposes is in good condition. the gas house is located in the ground floor, but is not accessible due to the entrance staircase. next to the dining room there is the possibility to sit in front of the house with beautiful and warm weather. the device is very simple but clean and in good condition. a menu not at our visit. a sign announced: “Third offer on demand”. the wet then said on the table his no 10 day offers, from the snack (bockwurst, strammer max) to the right meal. we decided to make the breakfast or roasted red beech filet. the prices are moderate (7 €uro for the building breakfast or 11,90 €uro for the fish.) for freshly prepared stays wait time with approx. 15 minutes in normal frame. the portions were well satined and also tasted.
