"We thought twice about using this fish and chip shop given a number of reviews citing rude staff. However, on our Saturday midday visit, our only human contact was with the young lady behind the counter who proved to be nothing but pleasant. When we said we would like to eat our fare on the tables set out at the front, she provided us with napkins, wooden forks and slices of lemon. The cod was absolutely delicious and we really enjoyed sitting in the autumnal sunshine eating the excellent portions which we washed down with a flask of tea that we had brought with us. This story would probably have been different had ‘Mr Grumpy’ intervened I assume he was the male who was doing the frying) but, despite his perceived shortcomings, he does seem to know how to provide a very tasty fish."

"Lovely portion of fish and chips with curry sauce bought on a whim on way home from work. Chips were cooked just right and fish was extremely tasty with a slice of lemon. Cooked to order so can't really go wrong. No pic cos it didn't stay on the plate long enough!"

"We have been using Staceys for about a decade. The food has always arrived hot and within 30 minutes. Generous portions of chips, lovely battered fish. The Chinese menu has never disappointed. We have always found the staff to be pleasant and friendly."
