"The lady at the counter who I shall not name declined to serve me only 5 items in total saying that she was closing .This was despite my having placed the items on the conveyor belt. There was no warning about the closure prior to my placing the items nor a display of the sign. Frustrated with her attitude I left the items and went over to the lottery counter requesting the return of my car park refund which was also declined. The assistant told me that I shall NOT be entitled for a refund if I don't buy anything. She had the audacity to instruct me to go and buy the items from another counter! I told her that it was not my intention to go back as I did not wish to purchase anything but she refused to attend to my need but was quite ready to engage in an argument. At this stage it will be inappropriate for me to speculate the reasons for her behaviour. Realising that she was as ignorant and rude unless there are other covert reasons as the first one I demanded to see the duty manager. As I kept insisting that I see her line manager she relented and phoned for help. Chris presumably manager? Supervisor? turned up and resolved the situation offering me to serve me collecting the items at the conveyer belt. He displayed a degree of professionalism and resolved the matter. The problem appears to be a lack of discipline and poor training as both ladies amply demonstrated a lack of common sense to appreciate the plight of the customer a total lack of knowledge of customer relations. I have deliberately omitted their names because naming or shaming them can only exacerbate the issues for they are unlikely lean by reflection nor can they change their attitude. What they require is some training in customer relations for them to develop insight in to organisational values. For the same reasons I have decided not to send an official complaint. So I shall leave matters in the hands of the managers.Hopefully some other provider will pop up locally in due course to compete with them for right now Sainsbury's have a monopoly and this may be making the senior managers feel complacent about customer services with poor attention to the shop floor. "Myself and five family members had Sunday lunch there yesterday, for the first time. 3 meat eaters, 2 vegetarians and 1 vegan. All catered for effortlessly. We all cleared our plates. Great service, lovely, cosy atmosphere. Thank you. Can't wait to go back. "

"What a gem of a place in the countryside. Food is fabulous, good value for money, the staff are friendly and the location is excellent. Children made to feel very welcome, with books bought out to entertain them whilst we ate our lunch. This is going to be our new regular"

"My experience of tudors is quite limited and usually consists of breakfast and coffee meetings. the touch and smoked salmon are a firm favorite. eating is of good quality round. the setting is very beautiful and is as they would suspect. tudor like! beams, uneven floors and cover and small steps everywhere. that doesn't make a wheelchair friendly. generally a great place for informal meeting, an interesting lunch and I can suspect a beautiful restaurant for dinner."

"Due to unforeseen circumstances I had to move my mum’s wake from home to a venue; the problem was I only had a few days to make the arrangements! I contacted several pubs near Bentley Crematorium and Carla responded quickly to advise The Robin could...accommodate us. I visited with my daughter and Carla showed us the area where the wake would be held. She thought of every small detail and was able to accommodate vegans without hesitation. The pricing was clear and good value. The spread was amazing with the tables decorated with beautiful fresh flowers in my mum’s favourite colour. We had a few more people than expected but the food was ample for everyone and I received so many compliments. Some of the guests went into the main bar where the customers were so welcoming and friendly. The bar staff are lovely. This pub did my Mum proud and I really can’t praise them enough. I’d passed this pub so many times but hadn’t been in but we were so impressed we will definitely go again, hopefully under happier circumstances."
