"After a longer shopping in the Cora supermarket, we went to the market-owned cafeteria for lunch. Overall very attractive price. "Now, of course I cannot force all restaurants in France to speak english or have english menus. But when you put a big "tripadvisor recommended" sticker on your entrance door it commits. Trip- implies "travelling, tourism". And not even the French, in 2017, can expect all tourist to be french speaking? They're situated less than 5 minutes from the german border, and not even a german menu to get. The waitress was polite and friendly enough, but no english at all. English is already my 2nd language, but luckily I do speak a little german so we managed to order without using the menu. I ordered a medium beef, it turned out to be medium rare and borderline cold inside. I ate less than a third before I had to give up. My wife tried to explain to the waitress in english (she wanted to complain while I was more passive) and the beef was cut in half blood red open to see. But no follow up from the waitress. Maybe because of language barrier."
