"We were passing by on the canal and moored in Ranchot, surprised and delighted to find the adjacent hotel/restaurant. On checking the menu, we decided to give it a go. Service was very good and our charming and delightful waitress offered us service in English. The drinks menu was remarkably good value with a Kir at 2€ and our very acceptable bottle of Cotes du Rhone at just 14€. The sounds of microwave pinging raised some concerns. We went a la carte and enjoyed a very good and tasty twice baked soufflé swimming in a bath of cream. Our main course of chicken arrived cold but was swiftly removed and reheated on request with no bother at all. The Ratatouille served with it was very tasty. A café gourmand was the best such example that we have come across thus far and my iced soufflé Macvin with cherries was delicious. Not haute cuisine but very acceptable at the price."
