"Scandalous! restaurant that voluntarily does not control sanitary pass. Absolutely not normal. I put a star because the meal in itself is of good quality. We arrived late in the beginning of the week and we found ourselves stuck (obligated to stay by lack of choice)."

"Very small restaurant. As you walk in you realise the guy behind the counter is the chef and the space behind the counter is the kitchen! There's only one other staff member. This means, not a place to go for a fast meal! But a wide range of wines by the glass or bottle helped pass the time and the food was excellent when it arrived. If I understand their motto correctly the idea is good local produce (all suppliers listed on a blackboard!) presented on your plate with minimal intervention. We'll be back!"

"It's very hard to find a restaurant open on a Sunday in issoire. There is a surprising shortage of restaurants anyway for a French town. In desperation we managed to cobble enough French together to ask two locals for any restaurant. They both said this restaurant est tres Bon. We nearly resorted to a pizza place against our firm convictions that you can find a good place to eat anywhere on France. What a gem. Staff welcoming, good ambiance, prices at 31 euros pricey but it was worth it. We had four courses and three amuse Bouches between courses. We did have cheese as a extra at 3 euros 50 each. The food was imaginative, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious.we had two choices on each plat and we chose alternative ones deliberately so we could taste both. Everything was encroyable.i had the fish and my husband had the beef. One of the best meal we've had in France in more than 45 years. Go there!"

"I feel my holiday has started when we get to The Globe for our first lunch. That means, we 're done with the long drive, queueing for ferries, and we 've opened up the house. We can start to relax. During our stay in the area we 'll probably eat at The Globe two or three times, and it 'll likely be our last meal too as we tend to depart the area in the early afternoon. Friendly and helpful staff even when rushed which they can be when it 's busy at lunchtime. Lots of room inside as well as the terrace. Extensive menu, from salads, omelettes, pasta, burgers, steaks, and a range of pizzas (the latter of course cooked in a log oven) and during the week a menu which is typically €10 12 and gives you a three course lunch, usually NOT something that 's on the main menu. We 've never had a bad meal. We did once have a very slow meal the heavens opened for a major thunderstorm on a day when lots of people were out for a stroll and they all hit the Globe at the same time! We shouldn 't have ordered pizza, the oven can only do two at a time... but the beers kept coming and it was as good a place as any to wait out the rain! The salads are huge. Even the ones which offer a large or small version, the small one is bigger than you would normally expect for a starter . IN fact in common with most french cafes, it seems they don 't really expect you to order starters (except for the menu of course). We share one! The burgers are fabulous you can tell they were made fresh just before they were cooked. Pizzas are excellent, a full meal size and plenty to choose from."
